The US this time needs to pay attention and heade to the advice from the UN. What makes North Korea such a dangerous prospect, is they are dirt poor, they let their people starve and have a short fuse. The US ignored the UN on Iraq and is now in a position of being in a war they may not be able to win.

No. Kim Jong Il is an egotist who craves attention and likes to throw tantrums. As any good parent knows, you do not let the tantrum thrower control the situation. KJI is lucky that we do not spank his asss. He wants attention and demands meetings with us? We should ignore him.

Hello U.N., anyone want to step up to the plate and take the lead in this by any chance? Oh, they do nothing yet again.

How much more useless can a supposed world organization get?

We do need to pay more attention to Korea as well as Iran, however we cannot put Iraq on the backburner yet unless we just nuke it and walk away. I don't have a problem with that.

The US will pay much more attention to N. Korea now that they have set off their nuke. Maybe the entire world will be mad at them but the big question is....who will do anything about it?

the US should probably continue to impose sanctions and do nothing ... let north korea keep making stupid moves until the entire world is strongly against them then move on them together ... let China deal with them .. China doesnt want Nkorea destabilizing the region any more than we do ..
