"The Pew Research Center says despite the conventional shorthand of "red America" and "blue America" most Americans can't be characterized as either liberal or conservative, according to a survey released last month.

Pew concluded that 'despite talk of culture wars' there has been no polarization of the public into liberal an conservative camps.' "

What is it that the terrorist hate about us Americans? I keep hearing they hate our way of life and our freedoms. I guess by putting a ban on all liquids carried on airplanes on August 10th, we detered any possible ummm... shampoo spills on airplanes. Oh but good thing we are now allowed to carry our toiletries on airplanes again... as long as they are no more than 3 oz and fit in a ziplock bag. Guess I gotta throw away my 3.2 oz mouthwash then. Well if it makes us safer then why not right, because I can't tell wether it's shampoo or chloride, even though it smells like shampoo, looks like shampoo and feels like shampoo. Finally i can travel and not have to worry about buying the essential toiletries at my final destination, I will now have a 3 oz bottle that would probably last no more than a day, damn, guess that backfired. Take that terrorists, we are giving up some of our ways of life and taking some incoveniences for the sake of the War On Terror.

Does it really matter is a candidate has a (R) or a (D) in front of their name. I vote for the best candidate. I have voted for both at one time or another.
This time seems (R's) are getting wierd. I can't believe I am saying this but the (R's) are torturing people. It is like a bad dream. The are breaking laws the other United States leaders invented. We are supposed to be the good guys. The (R's) are selling us out to China. The (R's) seem not to care about the constitution and human rights?
Does it matter this time if you don't really like the (R) candidate. Who are the (R's) you like and why?

Yahoo.news AP 9/25 - "Retired military officers bluntly accuse Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld of bungling the war in Iraq, saying U.S. troops were sent to fight without the best equipment and that critical facts were hidden from the public.

'I believe that Secretary Rumsfeld and others in the administration did not tell the American people the truth for fear of losing support for the war in Iraq," retired Maj. Gen. John R. S. Batiste. Retired Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton, is expected to assess Rumsfeld as 'incompetent strategically, operationally and tactically ....'

Batiste, who commanded the Army's 1st Infantry Division in Iraq, also blamed Congress for failing to ask "the tough questions."
He also said Rumsfeld at one point threatened to fire the next person who mentioned the need for a postwar plan in Iraq."

It is unusual for retired military officers to criticize the Pentagon while military operations are under way.

Why keep Rumsfeld?

My coworkers/housemates R about 90% from1 particular impoverished country (for this venue, I'll call it "Venus"). Of that 90% about 80 % of those R Muslim. 2 of many possible examples: They pray in Islamic chants, often not in the bedroom/other private area. In a congested area of the living room they say that praying facing east is necessary. Is this the only area in our house that faces east? I have been told to turn the TV which is at a normal level--down or mute it b/c it's interfering with their “focus on Allah”. Another: There’s a store down the street from the building I work in. Every time I go to the store, I ask if anyone needs anything b/c it’s quite a hike. Whenever when they go, they only ask others from Venus what they may need. I've asked them why & they say it's "cultural". Americans say "It's cultural yes but, only b/c you're female and not to be respected by their culture." How can I tell if a behavior is cultural or the person's just an azz? What do you think?
