Conservatives have awakened to the threat of militant Islam. What's more, in a dispute over tactics, thjey furiously accuse Liberals of not recognizing the threat, of wanting to surrender to it, and even of approving of radical extremists.
Setting aside the absurdity of these accusations, which has them putting more effort into fighting Liberals than Jihadists, I wonder: Should Muslim domination be anything conservatives should fear?
For a long time, conservatives have seethed about the decline in morals in America, mostly sexual. Muslim rule would restore the moral strictures that they crave: the Sexual Revolution would be rolled back, sexual sin would be punished, women would be modestly attired. Muslims and conservative Christians are kindred souls! So why wouldn't they accept Muslim help to purge a decadently free America?

Recently I saw a court ruling ordering US cigarette manufacturers to stop posting terms such as "light" or "low tar" on their product. Understanding this as an attempt to eliminate smoking in our society i am worried. Why has society and politics suddenly decided to regulate what products we can and cannot consume. From attacks on fast food to violent video games to smoking why has everything become someone elses fault. Do people not realize that as soon as you ban something like smoking it opens the door for other bans. I believe people should be allowed to make their own choices regarding their health and actions. Shouldn't we be allowed to enjoy the things that are legal and avalible to us without fear of regulation? They are my actions and i will accept the consequences and it is no ones choice but my own. Am i alone here?

Im 14 so pls forgive me if my argument is somewhat disjointed. I welcome your thoughts and opinions.

I'd like to get your thought on this...I don't know quite what to think.

We were in another neighbor in the 1970's..it was nearly 100% white. Typical middle-class neighborhood. A neighbor moved out and the house was rented out to a black family..then another sold and purchased by a black family. Well then the signs started popping up every where..on our street we lost about 14 neighbors in a matter of a few Months..some had been there for years. Home prices were dropping like crazy and the neighborhood did go down hill over night. Suddenly the sound of police sirens were common place and it was no longer safe for my two daughters..so we moved, we were the last to leave. We moved in our brand new home in 1977...now it's just started here all over again. I am not prejudice..but I just got my hear full of rap music this morning.

Any advise...3 signs went up this past week!

He came to our city two days ago, for a FUNDRAISER, not official state business. Yet, they shut down the interstate for about seven miles, from the airport to the hotel downtown where the fundraiser was taking place. They did the same when he left the fundraiser to go back to the airport. It snarled traffic all afternoon. Why is he allowed to do that for political business. It's understandable if he's on official business, but I do not appreciate getting stuck in traffic for three hours so that he can go raise money for his fellow politicians.

I have heard a lot of very foolish conservatives try to defend Dubya by saying that Lincoln's approval was very low during his time in office. They use this to say that Bush will be remembered as one of the great presidents. They never show any evidence, but say it is true. Obviously he wasn't well-liked in the states that seceeded from the union, but I haven't seen anything that says ONLY 30% of the people nation-wide (at least the Union states) supported him. Does anyone have any more info? I do realize this might be kind if difficult because Gallup and his polls didn't come about until the 40s and 50s.

Dems would rather sit on their a@@ and let the governmet pay them than to get up and work.
Dems like to follow polls but notice they can't lead.
Dems support the poor but who has to pay taxes? The middle class gets stuck with the burden. Why? B/c the poor is too poor
and the rich is too rich. So each can avoid taxes.
If Dems were in office everyone would rely on the big government to take care of all their needs

Kentucky’s Roman Catholic bishops have weighed in on the national debate over illegal immigration, calling for humane treatment of immigrants and policies that would allow them to gain legal status.

“We respect the right of nations to enforce their borders and to enforce reasonable immigration laws,” said the statement to be formally released Tuesday by the Catholic Conference of Kentucky, the lobbying arm of the state’s four bishops.

“At the same time, we regard every person, illegal immigrant, legal immigrant, or citizen, with the mind of Christ: a human person worthy of dignity and respect."

My wife and I are thinking of moving to the US from Canada. My wife has had a Green Card since she was a little kid (with no expiration date). We would like to eventually apply for a Social Security number for her and a Green Card for myself. We are both educated professionals with university degrees and substantial savings (not sure if that has any relevance... does it?).

Would we be better off applying from Canada of have her go down to the US and apply for me from there? The catch is that we don't really want to spend 3-6 months apart and I've heard that's about how long it would take for the application to be processed. I know that I could always go down there and not work until the application is approved but I don't really feel like spending so much time unemployed... any ideas?
