No. Since Israel took a serious kicking from Hezbollah, the old certainties have gone out the window. Vast wealth and military superiority no longer guarantees success. Also, with the worsening mess in Iraq, I seriously doubt that an invasion of Iraq would be palatable to the British and (in all probability) American electorates.

IF WMD was the reason for going to war, Bush and Bliar looked at the last letter in "Iran" and saw a "q". In other words, they ballsed it up!

I doubt it very much. In Iraq a large enough majority of the population wanted to get rid of Saddam to make it a viable option. Given all the initial positive feeling from the locals just look how much discontent there is now!

Imagine invading a country where the vast majority of the population don't want to be "liberated". I'm not saying that they all like the current Islamic dictatorship, but they would like a US/UN based one even less. It would make Vietnam look like a picnic!!

....then again Bush & Blair/Brown could be that stupid

Eventually. And this time Russia and China will be against us. Remember everyone: Iraq was just an exercise. The real thing is coming soon enough. We just needed a foot hold over there first.

They can only threaten Iran because the military forces are over-stretched.

Worse, I think. I'm very afraid they are seriously contemplating to use nuclear weapons against them, or make Israel do it for them.

You are right, but hopefully it will not come to that, but you have to do what you have to do.
