07.08.06 | Dear Israeli friend who might happen to read this blog: The title of this post means exactly what it means: it is Hugo Chavez that is breaking up with Israel, not Venezuela. The people of Venezuela are much smarter than that. Or ignorant as the case might be. But Venezuelans of good faith, of good name, of good will, do not break relations either with Israel, or Lebanon, or Iran, or Palestine, or Egypt.
See, Venezuelan people of good will know that the Middle East is a very complicated situation, and we know that we have no business involving ourselves in there, except for trying to help in any way we can, without taking sides, in reaching peace one way or the other. Just as Israel has no business meddling in border problems between Venezuela and Colombia over FARC crossing over as they please.
See, Venezuela is a gorgeous mosaic of people. We have plenty immigrants form diverse areas of the Middle East. But we also gave refuge to many Jews fleeing the horrors of Nazism, o

Do you agree that "old man wage war and young men fight it"? If so, what are some tips that we, as the next generation, can do to put an end to the hatred and jealiousies that the generations before us failed to stop passing down?

Current "headline" article on Yahoo.com trying to make the administration look bad....by the way the answer to the question is in the 3rd paragraph - from the bottom. Nice that they only quote democrats up until the 2nd paragraph from the bottom.

Oh and so you don't have to read the dribble it was so they could make up a deficit from trying to defend public buildings; a lousy cause I'm sure. (I wonder if a public building like the one in Omaha had been blown up if they'd have gotten any credit for trying?)

In trying to comprehend the foundations of the Bush ideology, scholars and analysts linked the Bush ideology to fascist thinkers; ideologues of the Bush regime propounded fascist ideas, without necessarily claiming to be fascists.

Faith, however, transcends ideas. Bush's religious faith stands above and informs his sense of unshakable convictions.

Bush told Bob Woodward: "Going into this period, I was praying for strength to do the Lord's will."

Bruce Barttlet, a Republican who worked for Bush Senior, told Ron Ruskin that people close to Bush commented on how Bush talks about this: "Messianic idea of what he thinks God has told him to do ? Absolute faith like that overwhelms a need for analysis." (NYT Magazine, October 17, 2004).

I don't want it for defense or to intimidate people. Jeez, I've been collecting knives since I was 10 years old and I'm 26 now and I've never used a knife to intimidate or threaten anyone. It's just an interest. I've never fired a hand gun. I mean, I have a BB gun, but that isn't the same obviously. Like 311 says, "Guns are for p*ssies." I believe that if you're carrying one around. I think they were referring to the gangsters and ganster-wannabes cuz if you have to use a lethal weapon to defend yourself, you REALLY are a p*ssy. I have a few friends that have gun licenses for hand guns but I've never seen the guns because they use their dad's hand guns at the firing range and therefore need a license to use them. Anyway, any suggestions on a cool looking one that doesn't cost too much?? Please don't tell me I'm stupid for wanting a gun...you may gain 2 points but you're just wasting space for other people's more reasonable answers.

other countries do it. like australia and they have a voting rate of 95%. we could have a natianal voting day HOLIDAY.

when everone is in the habit of voting, politicians tend NOT to pander to their extremist bases as that is a losing strategy. we would end up with a lot more moderates in congress and the white house and eventually in the supreme court, and a lot more compromise and a lot more useful congressional legislation, and quite likely fewer lobbyists inside the beltway writing things like american energy policy.
either vote by mail or show up at the polling station, either pick you best choices, or X your ballot out and vote for nothing as is your right.

but if you dont submit a ballot, then you pay a $20 fine. if you do it two years in a row, then a $30 fine, etc.

A towing company is towing cars that are "illegally" backed in to their assigned parking spaces in apartment complexes then charging exorbitant sums to get the car out of the tow lot. ($265.00) The apartment management is probably in on the scam since the tow trucks come in the middle of the night (after 12am).

When confronted, the apartment management whips out a signed acknowledgement form that the tenant signed when they leased the apartment. However, there aren't any signs posted anywhere on or near the apartment complex or parking structure warning of the consequences or that backing in is not allowed. Sounds like a scam to me!!

Our constitution allows that if the people of the US by two thirds of popular pupular vote. Decided to go back to a Monarchy which the gover ment would have to do. Then would we still have the right which we think we do to tell other countries how to run their lives. What right do we have, now wouldn't we fight if someone tried to tell us what we can and can't do.

Prostitution laws make murder easier: Forcing women to work in the shadows leaves them vulnerable to attack. In the United States, prostitution is legal in certain counties of Nevada. State law forbids counties with high populations from legalizing brothels, so prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe. Other counties may license brothels; street solicitation is illegal. Prostitutes are required to use condoms for all types of intercourse, and must undergo regular medical checkups. The rate of AIDS infection is nearly zero. Where prostitution is illegal, AIDS rates are often over 25 percent among prostitutes.Since counties began legalizing prostitution in the early 1970s, they have been reaping an economic benefit from a variety of brothel-related revenue sources, including licensing fees, property tax, work card fees and liquor licenses. In total the sources pump more than $10 million into county coffers annually, according to one state study.
