Time and time again Israel has tried to make peace with its neighbors, by giving into their demands. Israel just wants to live in peace and quiet. This is why Israel withdrew from Southern Lebanon in 2000 and from Gaza last year.

These withdrawals have only led to violence. In the north, Hizbollah has amassed a large arsenal of weapons in Israel's absence, that it is now shooting down onto Israel. Gaza has become a terrorist haven. As soon as Israel withdrew the began further attacking Israel. The 'palestinian' culture is one of hatred and violence - and cannot exist without it. The cannot accept peace, and won't allow it to happen.

"Palestinians" were a people created in the last century solely for the purpose of waging a campaign of violence against Israel. 50 -75 years ago the term "palestinian" meant Jew, but today the local Arabs have coined themselves 'palestinian' and have created a culture of hatred and violence. These are values taught to young children in schools. Peace and tolerance are not taught.

Israel has movements such as "shalom achshav" that preach peace at any cost. These groups are free to criticize the Israeli at any time. Why is there no Arab version of "shalom achshav".

Througout history, every Israeli overture of peace has resulted in more violence. In 1947 / 48 Israel agreed to a 2 state solution. The Arabs response was War. In 1993 the Oslo accords began the handing of autonomous power to the 'palestinians'. This lead to an increase in regular suicide bombings. Buses all over Israel were bombed on a regular basis. In 2000 Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak agreed to give to the palestinians 97% of the land Israel captured in the 1967 war from Jordan and Egypt (not Including the Sinai that was already given away). The 'palestinians' did not accept this. They were offered a state, and they said NO! Their response - the second Intifada. Finally, last year Israel withdrew fro Gaza, this resulted in IMMEDIATE violence, including the daily bombing of Sderot and Ashkelon, in addition to the more recent kidnapping of an Israeli soldier.

In summary, Israel offers peace, arabs respond with violence. To me, this justifies military action. Israel already attempted diplomacy and good will. This was flat out rejected. The arabs want a war, and now they have one.

Israel needs to root out these 2 terrorist organizations, and make the WORLD a safer and better place to live. I figure my thoughts on the subject have given you plenty of reasons why they hate each other.

The Israelis have about 1,000 reasons to be upset with the palestinians, here are some of the highlights:

1972 Munich Summer Olympics - A group of thugs calling themselves "Black September" took 11 Israeli athletes hostage and tried to leave Germany. The German police killed everybody.

October 12, 2000
Two Israeli reservists, Yesef Avrahami and Vadim Novesche, took a wrong turn on the highway and were stopped by Arafat's Palestinian Authority policemen. A Palestinian policeman and other Palestinians later lynched and murdered the two Israelis.

June 1, 2001 - The attack comes days after Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced a unilateral Israeli cease-fire.
A Palestinian suicide bomber attacks a Tel Aviv beachside disco filled with teenaged immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
21 murdered. More than 100 injured.

Dec. 2, 2001
Palestinian terrorists attack three times in 24 hours - at a pedestrian mall in downtown Jerusalem, in a car in downtown Jerusalem and on a Haifa bus.
25 murdered. Over 200 injured.

March 27, 2002
A Palestinian suicide bomber (Hamas) strikes at Netanya's Park hotel during a Passover seder.
29 murdered, mostly senior citizens. 140 injured - 20 seriously.

Nov. 21, 2002
A Palestinian suicide bomber detonates on a commuter bus during morning rush hour in Jerusalem.
11 murdered, many of them schoolchildren. More than 50 injured

The Palestinians hate the Jews because:

A) The League of Nations (Forerunner to th U.N.) decided to give some territory to the Jews after WWII (1948) and the Palestinians considered this "Their" land, even though the Isrealites were there before the Ottoman empire swept through in the mid sixteenth century. When the Turks receded back into their own territory, the Palestinians settled on the land. They were displaced when Israel was established as the homeland for the jews in 1948.

B) Because they are Jews. Muslims do not like Jews. The Koran does not speak highly of Jews. Muhammed did not like the Jews.

Oh goodness! Lots of reasons. See Palestine is the "holy land" Not only for Jews but for Christians and Muslims as well. This causes LOTS of problems. Palestine generally consists of the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Israel -- The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) labeled it the State of Paletine but it still isn't considered such by many. Generally when you hear Palestinian they are Arab, Muslims. Jews from Palestine were once called Palestinian Jew but now are just Israelis. So this is where it all begins. Palistinian Arbs verses the State of Israel. (this conflict is a small portion of the bigger war...the Arab-Israeli conflict)

In the early 1900's the majority of the population was Muslim, as time went on the number of Israeli's continuously rose and the Arab population was begining to get very frustrated because the Jewish population had stated their attept to create a Jewish State there... this is called Zionism This is your number one reason the Palistinians are upset with Israeli's. This is their biggest fear and complaint.

In 1948 the UN broke up what was called the British Mandate of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states, this included Jorden, Israel, the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Jorden and Syria refused to accept this and attacked Isreal. This is your number 2 reason for Palestine being upset with Isreal and your number one, and biggest, reason Israel is upset with Palestine. They both want to live on and own the same land

In 1966 Israel wrote to the King of Jorden explaining that they had no plans to attack Jorden, shortly after they attacked a refugee camp claiming they were harboring terrorists. They didn't just attack they brought thousands of men and tanks with them, much more than needed to accoplish the mission. This is another thing that upsets Palestine. Israel's attacks are more drastic than needed to accomplish the mission, killing more people than they neccesary. This is number 3 for Palestine.

Around 20 years ago or so member of the PLO attacked a civilian family of 2 female children and a adult man. They killed all 3 of them the youngest being 2 years old. They were imprisoned by Israel and just recently 2 of Israels soldiers were kidnapped as a bargaining peice to get their people back. This is number 2 for Israel. They feel that Palestine doesn't care about the women and children they just kill without regard.

I can't really think of any other reasons as the biggest 2 are Zionism and they both want to land. I hope this helps a bit though.

Israelis:
1. Suicide bombings by the Palestinians against civilians
2. Kidnapped Israeli soldiers in Gaza
3. Hamas being the majority party in the Palestinian government
4. Palestinian stonewalling of a political settlement
5. Racial and religious bigotry

Palestinians:
1. Israeli violence against Palestinian civilians
2. Attempts by the Israeli government over the years to block a political settlement
3. Palestinian political prisoners being held without charge
4. The seperation wall cutting into the 1967 borders to seize much of what would be a Palestinian state
5. Racial and religious bigotry

When you break it down, both sides are accusing each other of basically the same crimes.

I wouldn't vote for akinnon2000's answer just because it's so flipping long. Dang, I ain't got 2 days to read it all - especially since it's poorly written.

Furthermore, anyone who lists the illuminati as a legitimate reason to be afraid is a conspiracy nutcase on the level with other neo-nazis and white supremacists. He also probably believes a UFO actually DID land in Roswell and that Oswald didn't act alone. Oh, and that the Da Vinci Code is actually historical!

Vote for someone else - not me. I just couldn't resist making light of his 300 page rant, er thesis.

Part of it is in the bible, it's a long standing feud.

Another part is that they are fighting over who has the right over Jersualem, a holy site to all Abrahamic religions.

And Palestinians are bitter that land was taken from them to create the state of Israel in the 50s.

Israelis are upset with Hamas, who is currently controlling Palestine.

Palestine is upset with Israel, because they don't like the fact that Israel as given a whole bunch of land that the UN purchased and actually succeeded at forming a country out of it.

israel.

and people. and keep land.

Palastine
want a just and fair deal for an independent state, in which it will be able to provide for its people and prosper.
it also requires getting control of the west bank.

arafat, what ever you think of him knew the deal wasn't good, in the end would not be just.

he almost gave in but would have cheated his people and in the long run that state would have fallen apart.
