In a 1970s book Tony Benn said that the UK prime minister has the powers of a medieval monarch but that to date, most of them had been gentlemen and had not used all their powers. Do you think what Tony Benn wrote has had any effect on future PMs or that anything should be done about this situation?

Which isn't in international waters, does it mean that I can keep it as my own and then make all the rules and laws. For example if someone comes onto "my" Island and I shoot them dead, who will prosecute me?

OK, you got me. Frankly putting a statue of Hillary Clinton in a Museum of Sex is like inducting Pee Wee Herman into the Football hall of fame. I just don’t get it. Now sticking a bust of Bill in there, I could understand. But Hillary? Huh?

Anybody else scratching their heads in wonder?

another male, could he discharge or report the matter and begin an investigation to discharge this person which would contradict one of the tenets of the "Don't ask.Don't tell.Don't pursue."?And what if this serviceman was an excellent officer with a blemish free record and who has performed his duty above and beyond? Is it right to dismiss someone for what they do off base and off duty regardless of what they do while on base and on duty-keeping in mind that those actions aren't illegal in accordance to the laws of the land?

I know that this has to happen. The fact that people get discharged for being gay suggests that at least on a few of these occasions it wasn't because the officer was prancing around yelling "I am gay, discharge me!".And I know that for every person who is discharged for being a homosexual there are probably ten others who managed to remain.I even know a Vietnam Marine Vet who saw action and was gay and managed to serve with honor even though he was gay.

President Mahinda Rajapakse the Commander-in-Chief of armed forces. The Muthur battle raised the key question whether Colombo, and President , would want to choose peace or war. If Rajapakse, as C-in-C, opts for continuing the offensive, he would have declared war. If he accedes with and supports Norwegian facilitators efforts in time, he would have saved the island from a deadly war. But now it seems SLA have been planning all along to strike at elephant pass and use the A9 highway to strike at the heartland of tamil resistance.>

there's a lot of good things about the us, no doubt. but unfortunately some americans believe that they are the only people on this planet... no respect for other ways of living. no respect for the environment. no clue of the meanings of what their president says. not interested in what other people think. letting their presiden lie to them. it would help the u.s. and the world if america would start thinking and taking action instead of waiting for a selfish president to ruin the world...

We are becoming more and more dependent upon technology and upon the maintenance of civil peace in order to keep that technology up and running. How much civil disruption would it take to upset that peace and thus cripple our technology-dependent civilization?

What if external and internal terrorism combined forces to call the bluff of those who hold the key positions in the maintenance of civil peace? How long would it take to bring our cushy world down?

I think that black people should not collect reparation checks, for they sold each other into slavery. Instead, I believe a program should be instated for those who complain about slavery, yet have not experienced it. The program should be named "Slave Labor," where we provide them with ample work opportunities, and a valuable learning experience.

What is your take?

I am Christian American and married to a Muslim Palestinian. We have a wonderful relationship and a great marriage. I have become more open minded lately about different governments and I know that my US government is not perfect. I just do not know how to feel about the Lebanese/Israeli War. I have noticed how people make comments of not caring about the war and make it into a joke. My goodness there are people suffering both in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine. My husband showed me pictures of Palestinian babies blown up by bombs and I cried. Who is right? Who is wrong? Why do people think that war is funny? What can a normal civilian do to help instead of talk?
