I am Christian American and married to a Muslim Palestinian. We have a wonderful relationship and a great marriage. I have become more open minded lately about different governments and I know that my US government is not perfect. I just do not know how to feel about the Lebanese/Israeli War. I have noticed how people make comments of not caring about the war and make it into a joke. My goodness there are people suffering both in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine. My husband showed me pictures of Palestinian babies blown up by bombs and I cried. Who is right? Who is wrong? Why do people think that war is funny? What can a normal civilian do to help instead of talk?

In war there isn't a right side or a wrong side, only a winner and a loser. The problem with this Lebanese/Israeli war is that it was provoked by a group of fanatics on the Muslim side who don't care that innocent people would get killed. The fact is they counted on it. These people knew full well that an Israeli response to their border attacks would create innocent casualties. They counted on using the negative press to help them win over more recruits to their cause, and it is working to their advantage.
If you need to pick a side, choose the side of sanity. These extremist who are bringing the world to the brink of war need to be eliminated. These extremists happen to be Muslims with an agenda to force their philosophies on the rest of the world.

Tough question well there isnt alot you can do accept to try and get the truth out about these things but be prepared to be hounded and shouted down at every turn as somone previously said israel is in the wrong they have been invading and ocupying south lebanon since 1967 so i dont think it will end any time soon.

The powers that be like to make out this started over the 2 soldiers getting taken by hezb 4 weeks ago. When the only resaon they were captured was to trade for some of the thousands of lebanon prisoners that isreal has taken over the many years they have been invading and bombing and ocupying south lebanon.

Here is a link if you care to read up on some of the facts not tainted by either Fox or other biased media.

Lebanon and Palestine are right. Israel are in the wrong, since they are being supplied weapons and Bombs by America, and so they have back up. But what/who do Lebanon and Palestine have for a back up, or to supply them with weapons and bombs...... No one. I'm not blaming America, the country or people because they are all cool. I'm mainly blaming Bush. Since he is in charge of the most powerful country in the world and instead of helping make the world a better place, he is making it worse.

I don't think war is funny, since i come from a country that went through a horrible war awhile ago.

Israel have been bombing Lebanon and Palestine for a while now, and Both countries are weak and haven't got any powerful weapons like America or Israel.

So to sum up: Israel are wrong. Palestine and Lebanon (NOT Hezbolla) are right.

How about siding with the Palestinian and Lebanese civilians, and against Hamas and Hezbollah.

The civilians are the ones getting hurt, and the terrorist organizations are the ones creating all the conflict. Israel keeps getting attacked, and has no choice but to defend itself. So don't blame Israel, even if you choose not to support them.

Blame Hamas and Hezbollah as the ones causing all the problems.

no one is right. the problem isn't that a country, religion or faction have the answers and wont give in, it's that no one knows how to find common ground to base friendly and peaceful relations on.
I remember being a child and hearing the news about bombings in Beirut. I'm in my mid 20ies & Lebanon is being bombed again. I htink the fact you cried when you saw those picture show you already chose a side: the side of the innocent victims in the war.

About the people that make fun of the war. its a normal human reaction too use humor when your scared. we laugh away everything we don't want to know, don't understand or don't comprehend. Don't be angry at them, because they just don't understand.
