with so many problems in the world with so many people fighting i'm beginning to think peace on earth will never be achieved. and thats a sad thought cos we all need peace and love.

if there was a ban on religion we might stand a chance but would have to shoot all the poititions as well.

Peace is a fantasy. There will never be total peace on this planet because there are too many people with opposing views. There are too many religions and they are all forms of mind control and promote continued ignorance. Ignorance is not bliss, it is dangerous, because it spawns fear, one of the primary emotions which drive men to war.

Most people are good and decent in any culture. It is the sociopathic minority who claw their way to the top of the heap who cause trouble. The spread of scientific knoledge, television and the internet are gradually bringing the worlds people together in resisting war and other brutal practises. The spread of democracy is essential in this aim, and fascist religious leaders of all faiths have to be resisted. The sociopaths often climb to the top in religions too.
Do'nt despair. There is hope.

For Humans as we know them today?
No!
(We still have all these animal traits, greed, tribalism, fear.
Even we so called "Civilised" people in the first world, are three days away from savagery. You may not think it now, but if you and those you love were to go without food for three days, you'd hurt a stranger who stood in the way of you getting some.)
If something has the chance to evolve beyond us, then maybe.

No, never. Human beings are inherently and perpetually selfish, greedy, and savage. And remember, not just nations and cultures are in conflict. Families, coworkers, drivers on the road (the list is endless) don't, in general, get along. I'm fed up.
