Terrorism is major problem at the moment.

But is it possible to combat terrorists like they are a convential army like Israel is trying to do in Lebanon at the moment?

Or does Guantanemo Bay, or detaining people indefinalty without trial really work?

Does extra security really protect us? Is it ever possible to be secure? Somebody could blow up a shopping centre tommorow. (There is no protection there, and people will always find a way to break security if they are determined enough)

If Osama Bin Laden was caught tommorrow would we have won or would they be 100 more terrorists to take his place?

Is winning the hearts and minds of the terrorists and their supports the best way to combat terrorism? But how is this done?

I have heard a very interesting viewpoint from a soldier who was there that you don' t here in the news. I was wondering if this is a correct assumption. Serious answers please. Answers from the folks that have been there would be nice.

Here's the viewpoint. The Iraqi's have came to a solution on their current state. They realize that they will never get over the differences between the factions. The came up with the idea of breaking the country up into three different sections. The Kurds in the north and the Sunnis and Shiites in their own perspective sections. They would run these like their own countries with their own military and infrastructure.
The soldiers viewpoint comes on to say that the reason the war continues there is that the powers in office in the US government still are clinging to the one Iraq concept and won't support the division.

The soldier has taken this view from the Iraqi's he has spoken with. This is viewpoint I'm not saying it is concrete.

I think that you're beliefs may be different according to your location geographically.. ...

I live in Long Beach, (LA county) California, so I live in a city with all races... maybe that's why I'm open-minded about different cultures.
I've seen the good side of hard-working immigrants and that's why I would like them to have the chance to apply for residence or citizenship..

Bush is giving the Israeli Army more time .. perhaps more weeks to go on with the war and to pursue the mirage of victory, while pretending to make great efforts to stop the war.

No doubt that Olmert has promised the disappointed war Presdident of the US that Israel will win the war, if given more time.

What I am talking about is this. How come groups like the Stern Gang, the Irgrun (which had a flag hauntingly similar to Hizbollah's), and the Palmach, which were recognized as terrorist groups, by the league of nations, aren't mentioned for their contributions to the tacts of the modern Arab conflict. Groups like HAMAS and Hizbollah are just copying their tactics

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to the public clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that have been forgotten with time.
