No I wouldn't...but if the cage was all I knew...I would be content with my lot in life...for caged birds don't know any different. It would simply narrow my world. I am a free-spirit and if I can't fly literally...I can at least do it in within the confines of my mind...and it is just as good. My mind can take me to places without limits. Our perceptions shape our reality.

NO NO NO. What a fabulous gift the ability to fly freely is--I couldn't take that away from a bird and I certainly would be depressed if that bird in the cage was me.

What are you saying? That all birds in cages should be let out to die in the wilderness that they know nothing about, or should they be kept there with food, water, and shelter?

well i guess i would live longer but I'd rather be free than be an old bird in a cage.

Depends. I have a wild European Starling that we rescued. He is definitely wild. We raised him from a tiny baby. He loves his cage, but we don't make him stay in it. He comes and goes as he pleases. I don't know, however, that he wouldn't take off in to the wild blue yonder, given the opportunity. I think that he would prefer to be uncaged and out in the wild, but he is not afraid of predators, so he would die.
He doesn't know the difference. He also loves to fly around our small apartment.

It depends, if it were big, it was cleaned regularly, and I was well-loved and well-fed...I would rather be in a cage, safe, and catered to, than outside tryna make it, in my so-called "freedom"
