Canada seems like a country that will avoid war if possible, which is a smart decision if you ask me. I know Canada has been in some wars, but they don't seem to want to start one too quickly either.

Five wars. At the time of 1812 when the White House was burned, Canada was a collection of colonies and not an independent country. Canada sent troops to the Boer War and WW1, but this was before we controlled our own military. Britain declared war and the dominions automatically joined them. Canada chose to enter WW2 (a few days after it started), the Korean War (where we were about the third biggest contributor of forces), and the first Gulf War.

Individual Canadians went to the US to volunteer for the Vietnam war but Canada was not officially involved. Canadian troops have been deployed as peacekeepers in Rwanda, Bosnia, Cyprus, Afghanistan and many other countries.

Yes, we Canadians for the most part are peaceful and mind our own business. If I remember right from history class, there have been a few wars Canada was involved (I believe there was one way back when where we fought the USA), but we are mostly peaceful, especially in recent years. We are very proud of that reputation!!! : )

Canada substitute into in contact in WW1 and WW2, they contributed greater often than not to international conflict 2. For a brilliant time they had a brilliant airforce because of the fact u . s . of america pushed planes in basic terms interior centemetres of the border, and a canadian might come for the time of and "thieve the airplane" permitting the canadians to re-inventory and permitting the individuals to take a seat down the conflict out till 1940. Canada substitute into in contact in the two gulf-wars and alter into the third best contributer to the afganistan conflict. As of january 2006 canadian defence took administration of afganistan and all coalition forces alongside with 20,000 canadian, british and australian forces and the 20,000 united statestroops in afganistan, are commanded by applying and characteristic coverage dictated by applying the canadians. So it extremely is considerable comprehend that they do no longer look to be helping united statestroops plenty as united statestroops are helping them. they're additionally in contact in peacekeeping operations alongside with countries of the comparable length, (e.g Aus, NZ). the united statesdoes no longer make a contribution to peacekeeping (u.n) as their militia is already on finished rotational deployment (too many infantrymen distant places in center east, korea, and forward dedployed to allow)

They went to war against the USA and kick their asses. Canada is the only country in the world that has burned the White House in retaliation for trying to piss them off:
...during the War of 1812, much of Washington, D.C., was burned down by British troops in retalliation for burning down Upper Canada's Parliament Buildings in the Battle of York (present day Toronto)...

You're right. Canada is not a war waging country, but my fellow Canadians decided to vote for a Conservative government that is intent into changing that and is pledging all of our resources to Georgie and his cowboys down there, to send our boys wherever they see it fit.
We participated in the 2 World Wars of the 20th century, and then joined NATO's operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan, and we're parto of international peacekeeping efforts in Haiti.

canada is like a neutral country to all around the world. no one wants to try to take over it nor will they try to bomb it.

the only wars that canada have been in were wars that they were pretty much dragged into or asked to participate in.
