If Washington D.C. isn't a state, then whose police department keeps the city safe?

Actually, maybe it's an impropriety, but I have several questions about D.C.

Why isn't Washington D.C. a state?

What do the license plates of vehicles there say? I mean, being that it isn't a state?

Why isn't it a state? Not that size matters...LOL...but it's bigger than Rhode Island, yeah?

The police force- like that officer who was brutally assaulted by the evil buhbitch Cynthia McKinney...whom do they work for? I mean, if D.C. isn't a state, then who is their government?

Taxes paid by undocumented immigrants go into the SSA’s “suspense file,” when the Social Security number does not match SSA’s records. In 2002, the suspense file grew by $56 billion in reported earnings, with about $7 billion in Social Security tax and $1.5 billion in Medicare tax paid. This tax contribution represents about 10% of the current Social Security surplus—the difference between what is being collected in Social Security taxes and what is being paid out in benefits.

Are they really that lame or what?

Iraq and Afghanistan are sink holes with ne end. No insurgency has ever been put down militarily less Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. This brew ha ha is going to drag out 12 years or more. Those serving in the worse parts of it are usually children from low income families who could not afford college. Those recruiters must be very good, or these low income kids so dumb they are duped into inlisting. Why don't they just go get a real job? Instead of copping out in the military. I don't know what signing bonus they were promised, but you can't collect if you are dead, and it is a small price to be paid for coming back an amputee.

cops outside my door what do i do?

my house is surrounded... they are threating the k9 unit on me here and im unsure if i should go outside and take as many of them out as i can or give myself up. im assuming this is for the hooker i killed and selling crack to young kids. so ill be facing alot of time..... WHAT DO I DO?

I had a perscription given to me for seizures and me had a bad reaction to it making me mean to child .?

I was given Keppra for seizures and me hurt my daughter not even knowing at the time after it happened. It causes you to forget I remembered a few days later. She is in foster home , lawyer said medication was a factor in in since i started it a few weeks earlier. I went to a website and printed it out and gave to lawyer and my doctor sent a fax saying it causes agression!!!

Who Really Speaks For Most Americans?

Have we reached the edge of Armageddon?

I am afraid we are heading into uncharted territory in our world as we know it. The very infrastructure of not only our nation,but that of all nations,is as volatile as any in the history of our planet.The leaders of all governments must act to dissuade the extinquishing of our world.I am scared of what I see and hear coming from N.Korea,Iraq, and the recent bloodshed in the Middle East between Lebanon and Israel.
