Everybody is going on and on about how the Taliban is evil and all, but didn't our Christian forefathers do the same thing durring the Crusades and the Spanish inquisition? If it's ok for us to do it then why not them? Don't get me wrong, I'm very patriotic and I love my country, I even had an uncle die in 9-11. I just wanna know what the difference between their actions and the actions of our ancestors is. In fact wasn't the Crusades what started this whole thing, the war between the middle east and Christians? I'm just out to get a good answer that makes sense, unlike my town leaders' answers of "because this is the way that God wills it". God, or whom ever you pray to, wants us all to get along, as it says in just about every religious text. So why all the wars in the name of religion? Anyways, sorry for the ramblings, and any help in my confusion would be much apreciated.

I thought this country was based on freedoms. I thought people had the right to their own opinion and views. Why be called Anti-American (Patrotic)?? I love the United States but there are a lot things that I do not like about the president. I do not hate him, I just disagree with how he has apporached certain issues. But, I have agreed with him on a VERY few subjects, also.

It is barbaric to deprive people of freedom. 20 years in jail is unethical and absolutely inhuman. How can we expect criminals to be better humans if they are in prison for over 20 years,

After Lebanon do you think Isreal is going to sit back and let this happen again. NO!! They are more than likely going to hit Syria and Iran. You know why? B/c they are tired of being pushed around. And the funny part is Iran can't do nothing about it. You want to know why again? B/c If they attack Isreal, that gives the chance for the US to attack Iran and take out their nuclear facilities. Sure they will fight the invaders that invade their county, but for as attacking Isreal, Iran doesn't want us to get involved in war with them because they know that we can wipe out there nuclear capabilties. Will we go nuclear? No way! If any country does go nuclear, more than likely the whole world will reprise them. Any Syria stands no chance against Isreal b/c aas you should know, Isreal has the strongest military in that region.

With the way things are going in the World right now, shouldnt America prepair for uncertain events to come? Americas population is porjected to reach 300 Million this summer, and with a population as large shouldnt we have a millitary of at least 1 Million? Shouldnt the Government offer great incentives to get men and women to join the armed forces? Is it time to reinstate the draft? Ill admit it makes it had to swallow when i think about dogging bullets and bombs, but ill do ANYTHING for mine and YOUR KIDS! I know people are spending a lot of time hating the commander in cheif and putting blame on others. If your favorite team has a bad coach do you give up on your favorite team? Just because you think the coach is bad you still wish his team well! Cant we all find a way to come together in this new millennium to conserve truth justice and the American way of life??? Is that asking to much to help protect the babies of this country?

there are always going to be some people take advantage of these programs but a majority of people that use these programs benefit to make something of themselves. before these programs were passed by lbj and fdr we has a higher unemployment rate, less people in college, and more people without good housing. thanks to these programs over time many families have broken the cylcle of poverty. that is the goal of these programs to break a cycle of poverty that many families have endured for generations. source: im a social work grad student who has studied this subject extensively.
