I'm European and I didn't celebrate. It was one of the saddest day of my life. We are all connected. We are all in this thing together. The evil of terrorism pervades the entire world and must be stopped. European men and women are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's stupid questions like this that hurt everyone and might actually make some young American mind think that Europeans actually hate the US, not to mention help those who would put a wedge between the US and the rest of the world. That's ludicrous! Who on earth told you that?? Read something once in awhile for crissake.

You are realy funny , once in 100 years you loose in one attack some 4000 people , and now all world must react with condlances to that. People are you on drogs?
In Iraq 50 people die every day for you oil and autoindustry, do you have condolances for their familiys.
You and your state are using 60 % of all world resources in oil metal an other raw material, people suffer because you do not sign treaties that everyone else signs. A lot of problems happens in this world becaus of "high" you. And you ask why did somone in Europe celebrate. If anyone did celebrate , it is his right. We still have freadom here, and are not so hamburgerize like you in USA.
Mean, in logic of this world this means if dolar is low euro is high, if boing does not sells airplanes, airbus will.
Economy of this world works in blocks, and these blocks are not frendly.
Man ,you americans specaly citizens of USA, make a lot of enemies in this world, to per se , because I do not hate John, Marc,Hassam,Xin or any other american by person. But as a state , and as a colective nation, you are rutheless, you destroy without any thoght about consequences. Everything that you do not see by your eyes live, not thru tv, is irelevant. For you reality is Hollywood and its movies, you are lacking real sense of empaty for the rest of the world.
If India and China wont more cars and same standard like USA, then they are poluters, world crisis etc...
You know what ,this world has now only one crisis, and it is called
USA.

Europeans DID NOT celebrate 9/11 or Katrina. (Unless they were really Muslim immigrants.) The leading French newspaper on 9/12 bore the headliune, "WE ARE ALL AMERICANS NOW".

I am sure that in the areas where there were a large proportion of middle easterners there was celebration but overall the Europeans and Canadians treated stranded and shocked Americans kindly.

Katrina was something else.
Agencies made a lot of assumptions.
Such as....that their population of 60% percent below poverty line population had access to Internet to find out HOW to get out of city.
New Orleans is about getting drunk and partying.
Not about brains.

Besides...the Headline "Cannibalism in New Orleans" sells tabloids.

They did not celebrate 9/11, as a matter of face there were demonstrations in Tehran, Iran in support of the US following the attack, and you are listening to some very bad right wing propaganda.

The only people that celebrated on 9/11 were the 5 Israelis they found in NY. Hell, even Iran called to give their condolences and offer help that day.

American, like the English at one point and time, is the most powerful country in the world. They rattled their saber and went charging in where they shouldn't haven't gone. The world hated them for doing that. Now we as Americans or at least our government is doing the same thing. So the world hates that as well.
It is like the rich people in this country. We love to see the rich guy fall. Because it make us feel better. It is the mentality of it happens to us so it should happen to them. Justice for the little people. We, as Americans, are the biggest, most powerful nation in the world and when we get hit, or fall, the rest of the world will cheer. Like when on of the Enron chiefs died, people cheered. That is the reason why.

Sorry (but as a European), I think you have the wrong end of the stick / sabre etc.

'Celebration' is not the correct word.

I don't think I have ever, nor know anyone who has 'celebrated' a tragedy or a death (other than Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot and a few others of a similar inspirational nature)

They don't and Ron was an Incompetant- When Ron took office America was the worlds largest Creditor nation , when he left we were the worlds larget Debtor nation, He also added Trillions to the National debt for you young people to pay. Bush is doing even worse than Ronnie- We should make Republicans pay the bill- - with a special tax.

I hope you don't really think that. Most Americans are descended from Europeans. I'm Irish and when the twin towers were hit the country stopped breathing. It was as if Dublin herself had been struck.
