To get a full understanding, we have to go back a long time ago when the Israelis were expelled from 109 locations and the British mandate and Balfour declaration gave Israel a part of the Palestine land that was occupied by the British forces then.
http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/expelled.htm

The Israeli Zionists had their own agenda to attain their "promised land" - the land between the Al Forat & the Nile Rivers - and Israel began to invade parts of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and more parts of Palestine.

In 1967 the UN passed resolution 242 calling for Israel to withdraw form the occupied Arab territories they have invaded & occupied during these wars.

During this time, Israel has been conducting ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians and is continuing to do so to this day as it is now doing to Lebanon as well. Have you heard of the Israeli Sabra & Shatila massacre in Lebanon or the Deir Yassin massacre in Palestine? Please read on:

The whole issue of the current abuse over Lebanon is not the issue Israeli soldiers. Israel provoked Hezbollah by crossing the Lebanese borders to aggravate matters and have Hezbollah retaliate. Lebanon is only a stepping-stone to reach Syria and Iran after Iraq has been totally destroyed and occupied by the US. (Israel was behind the Afghanistan / Iraqi wars).

For Israel to be able to fulfill its agenda, then it has to ensure that there are no powerful Arab / Muslim armies in the region except the Israeli army, which is backed up & fully equipped with US military weapons. Israel also has its own nuclear power station and nuclear warheads.

I have many sources to support all that I have said if you care to check them out yourself.

Israel throughout history has been conducting covert operations against the US (in particular) to set up the Arabs and begin wars with their neighboring Arab countries to achieve their cause / agenda.

From history, Israel did conduct attacks on the US harming and murdering US citizens trying to set up Arab countries in the process so that the US may start wars with these countries – Check the sources below: USS Liberty and the Lavon affair and others:

After WWII, the UN created a land for the Palestinians and a land for the Jews. The Arabs do not want to share, so they declared war on the Israelis. The Israelis have pretty much kicked the Arabs A$$es every time they fight. Israel has freedom of religion, but most people are Jewish. The Arabs are intolerant of anyone that is not Muslim.

It all started some 20,000 years or so ago in a place known as the Fertile Crescent. Some attribute this area to the first establishments of society as we know it today. The land rich with nutrients was easily cultivated and as such heavily vied for.

Skip ahead a couple thousand years to the birth of several modern religions Islam, Judaism and Christianity. All of the same people who were vying for the land are still doing so, only now claiming that it is "holy land" in accordance with their own religions.

Skip ahead to two weeks ago:
Israel Is the leading organized country within the region, and is backed by the U.S. and other nations since it is strict against terrorists groups and other radicals.
Recently Palestine and Israel agreed to a cease fire in the Gaza Strip, a highly contested area of Israel that is home mostly to Palestinians. The Palestinian radical terrorist organization Hamas plans the capture of Israeli troops via a tunnel dug from inside Gaza to several thousand feet within Israel's border. They capture 1 soldier and are holding him hostage. Israel takes this act as a clear sign of defiance, and arrogance, since clearly this capture was planned while Israel and Palestine were having peace talks. Israel begins an assault on the Gaza Strip demanding the soldier be released. This goes on for a couple of days, but reaches an impasse and awaits further negotiations.

Flash forward to last week.
A group of terrorists known as Hezbollah positioned along the Lebanese/Israeli border attack an Israeli outpost, kill 8 Israeli soldiers and capture 2. They then return back into Lebanon.
* At this point all hell breaks loose *

Basically here are the main issues:
1) Israel made efforts to quell the rising level of terrorist activity within it's borders via peace talks and withdrawl from Gaza only to have Hamas break these promises and capture a soldier.
2) Weeks later 2 more soldiers are captured, Israel sees this as a threat to it's people, weakening borders and apathy on the part of the Lebanese.
3) Israel retaliates via air-strikes to neutralize Lebanon's infrastructure, limiting travel to and from the country for several reasons. a) to stop the possible transport of their POWs b)to cut off supplies and ammunition for the Terrorist group Hezbollah who is attacking them.
4) Israel's demands are simple, and yet very difficult to meet. they are a)the soldiers be returned b)Lebanon disarm Hezbollah c)Lebanon establish a military presence capable of defending the border and controlling Hezbollah.

Hope this helps.

The current conflict is a matter of the United Nations sitting back and doing nothing (as always), with regard to UN Resolution 1559. The Hezbollah are non-Lebanese, backed by Syria, occupying Lebanon.

It has been going on for centuries. It is basically about land. Muslims, Jews, and Christians all claim that area as holy land. Jews claim that that land was given to them by God (see the Old Testament). I believe that Christians say that was the site where Jesus was crucified and resurrected.

They haven't learned how to live peacefully with each other after 5,000. Sorry, I just don't get involved.
I figure, if I don't get involved with any of the Three Major Religions, I will be much better off.

It is not something that can be explained really, because it is a simple matter of raw hatred. Each religious group hates the others, and they all act like spoiled children who didn't get their way.
