The short answer is an Infantryman with a radio. If you are wondering about rifles the AK-74 is the most durable it is an updated version of the AK-47. The most reliable and versatile is the M-4 carbine (a carbine is just a shortened rifle). For a machine gun I would go with the M-240B it is a Belgian made MG that will rarely ever jam I carried it for 3 years in the Army and thought that it was way better than the M-60. Hand guns I would say a Glock as long as the caliber is .40 or higher. The M-9 that the Army uses just doesn't have the stopping power but is very simple for Field usage and easy to clean.

If you think of it, we’ve only used two nuclear bombs on enemy combatants throughout history, even though we have many thousands of them. Which means that nuclear warheads have the highest ratio of kills per usage, therefore the ‘best’ weapon would ultimately be the one that never needs to be used because everyone would be too afraid of what it could do.
