This country IS based on freedoms. People DO have the right to their own opinions. I don't hate Bush either. I agree with him on some issues and I totally disagree with him on others. Just because he and I are both Texans doesn't mean a thing to me. I'm NOT a Republican, and I'm NOT a Democrat for the same reasons. I have some issues I side with the right or left on, but most issues I don't agree with either. That's what being American is all about. If somebody calls you Anti-American because you don't agree with THEIR views, it only shows their ignorance.
Frankly I think there are a lot more "middle road" people like us. There is just too big a division between the right and the left, and both sides don't feel there is a middle area.....We need to tell them differently. That's where Independent candidates come in, and I think we need a lot more of them in our political system.

Because in the end, that's all they have. Joe McCarthy labeled people "un-American" when they disagreed with him. It's an easy slur to throw out.
Bush's decisions have been detrimental to this nation, and something it's going to have to suffer through for years after he leaves office. We are trillions of dollars in debt (part of which we owe to China - bad idea). We're in a war we can't cleanly get out of. We've all but completely burned our good will with other nations. North Korea has become a problem, and again we turn to China for help. Our education system is still ranked as one of the lowest of the western nations, particularly when it comes to math and sciences. And he's become a lame-duck president with no real international pull. Those aren't opinions, those are facts.
Doesn't everyone remember before 9/11 there used to be a show on Comedy Central called "That's My Bush" that played on how inept and dumb our president is? That hasn't changed.
>>>"stupid liberals", I don't know what you've been drinking, but I have never, ever heard anyone say Hitler was a better leader. And you can be for the troops, but against the war they're forced to fight in. Hell, you just want them to come home. What's wrong with that?
You need to relax. I'm sorry W sucks, but he just does. He's bad at his job, and never should have had it in the first place.

You are only labeled anti-American by the idiots that are too blind to see all of the damage that George W. Bush has done to this country and it's economy. The only reason that we are in the shape we are right now is his stupidity in seeking revenge against Sadam Hussein for trying to kill his daddy. That and his greed. He allows the oil companies (he is an oil man) to raise the price of oil when the combined companies only made a measley 14.8 billion dollar profit in the first quarter of this year and all of the crude that was being imported was being dumped directly into the reserves. None of it was being refined. That means that they charged the American people according to the price of what they are importing now, for oil that was procured and refined right here. When it comes time to refine any of the crude that was imported, the price will go up again. There are oil beds both here in the US and Canada to sustain the whole world for the next 500 years. The only problem is that there is a lot of rock and other material mixed with it and god forbid that these greedy self-serving oil people have to take a little less profit to seperate and refine this oil.

I don't understand either. I'm a democrat and have been called un-American, a traitor, stupid, terrorist supporter, communist, socialist, bleeding-heart, libturd and several more that I can't print.
All of which are not true.. I honestly think that Republicans in general don't understand our stance and don't want to. It really bothers me that they think we're siding with the terrorists or that we spit on our military. Far, far from it!
In fact, read this quote:
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” -Teddy Roosevelt

It is a common plan to drive a wedge between otherwise good Americans. People on both the right & left use this ploy. Us against them instead of we as a group will do this even though we may not all agree on all points.
There are many people I disagree with that I consider patriotic, good Americans.

Other than kooks on web forums, I just don't see people getting called unpatriotic for disagreeing with Bush. Where are you seeing this?
In any case - isn't telling someone they are unpatriotic just expressing an opinion or view, and don't you support the right of people to have opinions and views? Arresting someone for expressing a view - now that is suppression of speech. But disagreeing with them, and even "labeling" them is expression of an opinion.

Just keep thinking for yourself. These labels are just an attempt to make you feel you are doing something wrong if you are critical or the current administration. They hope it will keep you silent on your feelings. It is far more unpatriotic to go along with everything a government does. Think about the people in Germany who were afraid to speak out against Hitler when they could have stopped him.

We have the complete right to disagree with one who lies constantly, operates in secrecy , runs the country into all time debt, starts a war for no reason, operates the war in an incompatant manner, cuts off School Lunch programs, while handing out billions in Iraq, for no bid contracts to cronies of Cheney.
They make slurs to hide the real facts, they have a dim wit leader and they elected him.

Because they feel the president has a mandate to do whatever he deems appropriate and have no backbone to stand against him their self. They refuse to accept the facts that he's lied and basically sold out this country. It's all about money for him , who in their right mind would consider selling our seaports to another country and claim to support homeland security ? He is so full of himself he hides under a blanket of governmental secrecy to hide his agenda because if the truth were known he wouldn't be our president now.
