Isreal is now under missile attack. A number of civilians have been killed and three Isreali soldiers have been kidnapped. God knows what is happening to them. These missile attacks and the kidnappings have been carried out by the Hezbolah(sorry if I mispelled it). The attacks are being lauched from Lebanon. Questions: What is the Hezbolah, what is their relation to the government of Lebanon, and why can't the Lebanese government, and from what I understand they would like to, get the Hezbolah to stop the violence.? I really would like to understand this. Thanks.

So many people are really paranoid about our military hunting down the bastards, but there isn't anything wrong with it.

Israel is doing the right thing. We need to support them and attack the Palestinians and Syria and Iran.

To the Iraqi people I apologize for the USA tearing your country apart. To the Palestinian people I am sorry for the way the USA treats you fine hard working people. I see on T.V. how the USA kills your children and I am ashamed. Please forgive us for we ( The American people ) are against our Government for hurting you people. We can understand you killing our American soldiers but keep this in mind. Most American soldiers are against hurting you innocent people so if you capture an American soldier please be kind to him. I hope someday we can all get along but first we have to get rid of Bush and his warmongers.

I think that politics is so corporate now that the likes of Churchill would never even make the constituency selection lists. He guided us through the war as a massive drinker and a sufferer of severe depression (Charles Kennedy was hounded out for too much Single Malt by Ming the Merciless) and is still considered one of the greatest. Churchill was politically in the wilderness for years as he fought against the general view that Germany was to be trusted snd Chamberlain's appeasement. He stuck to his beliefs. What politician does that nowadays other than to line their pockets, e.g. Prescott, Blair and all the cash for honours fiasco...

The Israelis and most of our media are lying as usual.

But here's the truth people :)

"basically the current stage of what's going on -- there's a lot more -- begins with the Hamas election, back the end of January. Israel and the United States at once announced that they were going to punish the people of Palestine for voting the wrong way in a free election. And the punishment has been severe.

At the same time, it's partly in Gaza, and sort of hidden in a way, but even more extreme in the West Bank, where Olmert announced his annexation program, what’s euphemistically called “convergence” and described here often as a “withdrawal,” but in fact it’s a formalization of the program of annexing the valuable lands, most of the resources, including water, of the West Bank and cantonizing the rest and imprisoning it, since he also announced that Israel would take over the Jordan Valley. Well, that proceeds without extreme violence or nothing much said about it.

Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.

The next stage was Hezbollah's abduction of two Israeli soldiers, they say on the border. Their official reason for this is that they are aiming for prisoner release. There are a few, nobody knows how many. Officially, there are three Lebanese prisoners in Israel. There's allegedly a couple hundred people missing. Who knows where they are?

But the real reason, I think it's generally agreed by analysts, is that -- I’ll read from the Financial Times, which happens to be right in front of me. “The timing and scale of its attack suggest it was partly intended to reduce the pressure on Palestinians by forcing Israel to fight on two fronts simultaneously.” David Hearst, who knows this area well, describes it, I think this morning, as a display of solidarity with suffering people, the clinching impulse."

When the American people stop their government from sending a total of $90 Billion of their taxes to Israel to support their barbaric acts then the fighting will stop.

And also when the American people stop their governments from vetoing any chance of a peaceful settlement, then maybe there will be an agreement.

As Oil represents a major part of Bush's family business, do you think he's the major beneficiary of the raising gas prices? Do you think the war in iraq serves directly Bush's business?? Do you think that Bush is sending our people to die in a foreign country just so his family wealth gets larger?? This is an open discussion, all opinions and theories are welcomed.

Why not ask Mexico if they would like to become part of the United States ? This would cure the problem of illegal immigration and make the U.S.A. even bigger and stronger then it currently is. I think it would be a profitable idea. What do you think ? Please try to be open minded about this.

If I went to an airport I would be racially profiled...I get racially profiled walking through the Mall if I have a beard. I don't mind the profile at the airport, but the mall, its annoying!!!!

Think about it: Whose more likely to bomb a building: White Man or Man who looks Arab (although an umpteen number of Arabs look caucasian as they are mixed racially)?

Coloured Man more likely to be a terrorist.

So I'd support singling them out and asking them a few more questions at the airport/border crossing.

Probability Dictates so. Unfortunately this sets a bad precedent and should only occur during times of stress: ie. War.
