As long as you don't put ketchup on your eggs the French people in general are very reasonable, very moderate people. I guess the only explanation I can offer is that I'm a student of history and I've also been to France. Your question seems to classifiable as a "Sweeping Indictment." It isn't a very clear question as your intended antagonist is not defined in any real way. Do you mean the French government as people or as a set of legal precedents? Do you mean to suggest that French domestic policy is racist? French foreign policy? Both? Are you pointing a finger at the French people in general? One article weighs heavily on the media. Is your question only about French journalists?

Am I the only American that still thinks the French still represent Human Rights before anything else?
It seems that every inbred trailertrash American has to take a verbal potshot at the French. Just because they stand up for their rights.
We forget that we based our principals of democracy on the French. Withouth the French Revolution; living under the rules of a monarchy or dictatorship would be perfectly normal in our world.
The French gave us the Statue of Liberty....why you ask? The answer is in the name....LIBERTY.
So listen up you cornfed billybob beerdrinking nascar junkie Americans..... FRANCE AINT THE ENEMY!!!
Viva La France!!

I think that France wants to stay as neutral and secular as possible. To keep their neutrality they would keep non-native-born citizens out of their country. This explains the opinion/truth that French people are loathe to interact with Americans or people of other origins/nations. I also back up this theory with the fact that France generally stays out of wars, such as the USA-Iraq war.

France just thinks it is the only country in the world and loves kissing it's own backside. You won't find any logic in what they do.

President Chirac goes next year, lets hope the next president has more than one brain cell. - Did I say more than one brain cell? Mmmm Surely that cannot mean Chirac has a whole brain cell? Why does he not use it then?
