As Oil represents a major part of Bush's family business, do you think he's the major beneficiary of the raising gas prices? Do you think the war in iraq serves directly Bush's business?? Do you think that Bush is sending our people to die in a foreign country just so his family wealth gets larger?? This is an open discussion, all opinions and theories are welcomed.

To bankster : I agree that increasing the demands on oil jacks up the prices but that's not the only explanation. The wars, US's been into in the middle east had a major effect on the oil stocks(esp. that iraq is a major exporter of oil) can you give us details on how this works?

That is a no brainer, him and his family are enriching themselves through the lose of lives of others. 10's of thousands of Iraqi, and over 2500 or our people have died so he can pad his pocket. Real moral guy isn't he.

No, gas prices are based on a world market. The more countries that increase their use of oil (China and India) increase the demand as well. Causing prices to rise. In the U.S. if oil prices are low we shut down most of are pumps because it is cheaper to import oil. When the price goes up such as it has in the past few years. We can afford to pump oil and make a better profit. So the answer is No. Bush has no control over the world market of oil, but with higher prices in place it does help our economy by putting more people to work. What's funny about this is the fact that Republicans offered to lower taxes on fuel and the democrats shot it down. They wouldn't hear of it. Exxon mobile receives 9 cents per gallon sold as profit. The rest of what you pay at the pump is taxes and whatever the retailer/owner add to the price to make a profit also.

Probably the Saudi royal family benifits more from the high oil prices. Also Russia.

No. The major beneficiaries are the environmentalists. They have been wanting to raise gas prices for years. They got their wish.
