Isreal is now under missile attack. A number of civilians have been killed and three Isreali soldiers have been kidnapped. God knows what is happening to them. These missile attacks and the kidnappings have been carried out by the Hezbolah(sorry if I mispelled it). The attacks are being lauched from Lebanon. Questions: What is the Hezbolah, what is their relation to the government of Lebanon, and why can't the Lebanese government, and from what I understand they would like to, get the Hezbolah to stop the violence.? I really would like to understand this. Thanks.

Hezbollah is a terrorist organization that has been around since the late 70s / early 80s. They are funded mostly by Iran with money and weapons flowing through Damascus, Syria; which is where the headquarters for about 25 other terrorist organizations are as well. Since they are funded by Iran, they take most of their marching orders from Iran.

The Lebanese government is basically powerless to stop them because many of the Lebanese people back them. If Israel doesn't demolish them, they will continue to attack. Israel is not the only one at risk because of these people, they have taken Americans hostage in the past and probably will in the future unless they are annihilated. If not that, then they will probably return to hijacking airplanes again.

Hezbollah is a governmental and militant Lebanese Islamist group, with a military arm and a civilian arm, founded in 1982 to fight the Israeli Defense Forces who occupied southern Lebanon. The civilian wing runs hospitals, news services, and educational facilities and participates in the Lebanese Parliament. Its Reconstruction Campaign (Jihad al-Bina) is responsible for numerous economic and infrastructural development projects in Shia-populated areas of Lebanon.

First and foremost, Hezbollah, Hizbollah (however the spellign of the day is) is a Terorist organization bank rolled by Lebanon and Syria.

How to stop them? Wipe them off the face of the earth. How does Lebanon stop them arrest them, try them for terrorism and then give them the just desert they deserve.

Other than that, not a damned thing is going to stop them.
