some are honest but they'll take the fifth on that as well.
My divorce solicitor is totally honest, in my favour that is.
The bills seem very dishonest

Do you people realised how much it costs to become a lawyer,
if you did, then you would realise that they are people who charge for the intellectual labour.
Typically you looking at £25-30K before you even get a training contract in london,
then after 2 years, you become a lawyer your firm pays £2-5000 for you hold a practising certifcate, plus professional insurance,
The honesty issue, most are honest, because we just don't get in trouble we lose our profession. Remember laws are made by polliticians not lawyers.
Most people don't know that you can challenge solicitors bills, if its not a reasonable then it can be changed.

Solicitors are no less honest than anybody else; however, the bad apples among them do spoil the bunch.
To me, it is more the prices they charge which are outrageous. I think it is ironic for lawyers to complain about the high number of people going to court unrepresented or being assisted by someone who is not a lawyer, while they charge such hefty fees you have to be wealthy to afford their services.

i deal with a few... some are very dishonest!
Yes you know who you are...
Most dodgy are those that trade alongside mortgage brokers... oh do I blow the whistle on the whole sham or not...
urm! i think i might...
how many people do you know who have lost there house...
sometimes there are people who will not argue against repossession of property... be it because they have no financial knowledge, or a bit inarticulate...
sometimes they are told they are in arrears, when actually they are not...
this happens to people who pay there mortgage over the counter at the bank (unless you keep check on your payments 100% of the time!)... not direct debits...
unless these people keep receipts... they are going to find it dificult to prove payment...
sometimes, maybe 1 in 10 of these people will not even argue the toss...
house repossesed!
do you follow?
that's about as much as i can say!

Some are, some aren't. But I think the comment on licenced bandits has a lot of truth in it.

I don't think so, the chances of finding anybody today, that has never lied, cheated or been dishonest, would be rare indeed, do you believe me?
