My Beardie is a little over 3 months old, and is very active and healthy, but he doesn't like his veggys! If I just leave them in the cage, he wont eat them, so I have to take him out, and gently stroke the side of his mouth untill he opens it, then I shove some carrots, peppers, or carrot tops into his mouth. Once their in his mouth, he will normaly eat them, but its really a hassel to do that 3 times a week! Any suggestions?
Thanks

I have a painted turtle, she is about the size of a baseball. We have tried to find someone to come to the house and take care of her and my lizards, but it's hard to find a reliable person that we trust to come over and who is not going away for Christmas, so now we have to take her and my lizards with us to Tennessee which is an 8 hour drive for us. How do I travel with my turtle, we have never taken her anywhere.

My brother left for the military and guess who got stuck baby-sitting his rather snooty lizard? ME, that's who! >:( So I was wondering...when the heck do these suckers stop growing? Jinx is like a foot or 14inches long now! He's in a breeder tank, so he has plenty of room, but will he stunt if he's in a smaller cage. I don't want him to, I'm just wondering.

And how do you tell if a bearded drangon is a 'Jinx' or a 'Jinxina'? Male or female, I mean. Thanks!

the larger one was following the smaller one around the tank. The smaller one shakes its hands at the large one. What are they doing? Should I seperate them?

when i first got my coastal carpet python i would just open the tank door and place the mouse onto a rock and he wouldn't try to bite he would just wait and now he is as wide as a 50c coin (aus) and about i think over 60 inches long (yes inches) because i measure his sheddings and when he sees the rat through the glass he goes to bit me (not the rat) and he just ends up hittings the glass so now i just dangle the rat and hold it by its tail through a gap at the top of the tank and i get really scared, but he always ends up eating it. My question is should i be feeding him through the gap? help!

I have 2 aquatic turtles, one of them is doing fine. The other is having shell problems. The lower half of his shell seems a little warped, and there are two spots that rotting away. I have a UV light and I feed him a good diet. One thing i've noticed is that he never basks. The other turtle will all the time, but i have never seen the one with the rott get out of the water. I even put an extra rock which really makes it easy but he still wont bask. Yesterday I dropped the water level in the tank down to next to nothing so that he would be forced to bask under the light, and let his shell dry out the spots seem a little better. Is there anything else I can do.

I have 2 RES one male and one female. The male is larger than the female and has been agressivly biting at her quite reguarly. Usaully she just turns her shell to him and scoots over to the basking rock. Last night I saw him get her on the neck just behind the head and today there is a sore on her neck. Their shell size is similar she is about 5.5" and he is about 6.5" but he is much deeper, about twice as deep as she is. I have also noticed that he is a much better swimmer and spends a good deal of time hovering mid level in the water where as she either sits on the bottom or climbs up on the rock.
Any thoughts? I don't want to have to seperate them but it is looking like I may have to.

I have been keeping my 9-month albino corn snake in a twenty-gallon long aquarium with a black-light (night-time heat bulb) perched above the tank. First of all, is a black light the same as a UV bulb? Second of all, is it harmful or helpful to keep the light on most of the time? I've searched through some webpages with mixed results: some say NOT to use UV bulbs because of potential problems and some say to use it twice a day for the snake's health benifit. I know there's bound to be someone on here with real experience with breeding and caring for this specific species of snake....?
