No way. It is a bit uncommon because most girls seem to be "programmed" to find creatures like snakes and spiders to be offensive. However, if a girl finds those things to be interesting and NOT offensive, that simply makes her a more interesting person who is not as limited by her culture as most other girls. There is nothing wrong at all with a broad range of interests. More power to you.

no! That is dumb to think that it is wrong! Just because girls are girls, doesnt mean we cant like spiders and/or snakes! I'm not a big fan of spiders but I love snakes!

Absolutely not. My sister is a zoologist and specializes in Herps (reptiles and amphibians). Her nickname she was given in college is "Snakewoman". She hasn't learned to appreciate spiders but i'm working on that. For Christmas my 13 year-old niece is getting a gopher snake and my 10 year-old niece is getting a leopard gecko. There are lots of amazing creatures in the world and it's character building to show awe and appreciation for all of them.

Im a girl & LOVE snakes. I like handling & watching them.
Im into any type of reptile. I have 3 myself.
BUT, I give you a big ol' thumbs up on the spiders. Just thinking about them gives me the chills.

Not at all. I currently own a corn snake and I love him! I know several girls who think I'm weird because of it, but who cares? I'm not too crazy about spiders, but I hear they make awesome pets! Do your own thing and don't worry about what everyone else is doing!

No...look at Terri Irwin. She makes a living handling those kinds of animals and her daughter likes them too. Personally, spiders have never bothered me at all but I am terrified of snakes. If you like them, more power to you! You're braver than I am.
