It depends how big the mealworms are. You don't feed a baby beardie anything wider than the space between it's eyes - so this would mean really small mealworms. These should be in a shallow dish, but not so shallow they climb out and the beardie can't see in to even see the food. If it's still too tall for the beardie to actually see - just place a small rock (or a secured branch) that might have a bit of a ledge that it get climb on for a better view and climb in the dish to munch...:-)

My beardie loves worms, but if he eats too many he will throw them up. I usually feed them to him one at a time. He is pretty big now so I give him about 6 or 7 each time. I wouldn't suggest giving a baby worms, they will have a hard time digesting these worms. I fed mine primarily baby food when he was younger. Small crickets are good too (you don't want the to be any longer the the width of his head). When he does get old enough to start giving worms you don't want to leave them in there. They are larva and will become beatels.

Mealworms aren't good for dragons because they have a hard outer shell that's hard to digest.

But in general, when feeding live prey, you should feed as much as they will eat and then not leave any in there. Also, they need at least a couple hours of basking heat to digest properly, so you don't want to feed her closer than 2 hours before her lights out.

EDIT: Mealworms are okay for ADULT beardies in moderation, not as a staple. But certainly not for babies.

Mealworms are just fine for beardies, they crush them up very well while chewing. Beardies love all sorts of bugs. Variety is key. Mix it up a bit. Dont forget the veggies every couple days, and dont forget to suppliment with calcium if you dont give him a pinkie mouse every now and then.
