Our neighbors have a goat tied up in their small fenced in backyard (we live in a residential area that im pretty sure is not allowed to have goats) and its been making sounds for the past couple of days. We think our neighbors are going to eat the goat but we arent sure, but its going to be 15F tonight! And if they are keeping the goat outiside in that cold, we think thats just a no.

My husband and I are moving to Oregon to a nice piece of land. We have both always loved horses from afar but have not had any experience with them. We would like to eventually own a couple of horses. We will of course go to local riding outfits numerous times to make sure we really do love horses but that aside, how difficult is it for the novice horse owner. We are both intelligent people and very hands on, we just don't have any livestock experience. What steps should we take. Thanks for any advice.

These new JAN 07 guidelines are designed to prevent charities from funneling money to terrorists.

PETA in the past has given money to ALF and ELF terrorists.

In 2001 it gave $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats.

During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing recommendation, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime.

Do you think PETA should be allowed to remain a charity?

So last night at 3:15AM i heard growling, snorting and scratching noises right outside my bedroom window in California. The nosies where so loud that it woke me up. Note: there are no dogs in the neighborhood. I was soooooo scared i turned on all three lights in my room and looked out the window and found a HUGE raccoon. He looked at me stood on his hind legs and growled at me. I closed the window and took my table lamp and pretended like it was torch to scare him off. He went away, now i'm afraid to open my window. the raccoon was huge he was the size of a baby bear. He looked like he could eat me alive! Can raccoons harm humans? what should I do next time this happens?

Had shoes on continually for 5 to 6 years. Not riding much for the past couple of years, and I removed the shoes. She's in the pasture during the day, walker a couple of times a week, stalled at night (clean and dry). Removed shoes, and that is when the abcesses started occurring...
Common?

We're planning on getting cows, and I'd like to get a horse, too. The problem is, I don't know if you can keep cows and horses in the same enclosure. Is there any reason why I shouldn't?

I own two, and anytime someone sees them they're like, "what are those, rats?" "They look like rats."

Dude, they don't look anything like rodents at all. They're a different pet other than the average dog or cat, so I assume people just don't know what the hell they are and just call them rats because they just know dogs, cats, and birds. I'm like, how in the hell can something that long be a rat? Crazy.

She had her babies 8 days ago and she had them in the carry-all ontop of her habit-trail cage. So could I possibly detach it and move it to a larger cage so the babies dont fall down the tube and get hurt when they start wondering from the nest? Or will this upset her too much and she will eat them? Please only answer if you know alot about Hamsters thank you....

I just got 3 baby bunnies & one of them has ...

He has curly kinda fur, I'm pretty sure he was a cross ...

Here is the photos, I was thinking somthing between a dawrf bunny because of his short ears and round face, it's hard to see it in the photo but his fur is wavy and seperated.

She had an abcess from a nail about 6 years ago, and very little problem since. she abcessed in her right front at Thanksgiving, recovered nicely, was well for about 5 weeks, abcessed on the left front 1 week ago, the abcess blew out on her heel two days ago, and now has abcessed on left back today. The vet and farrier have both been out and looked at her multiple times in the past 2 weeks. They are both very reputable, and I trust them. lThey don't seem overly concerned. The latest was found with tester, but it is deep and cannot be isolated. We are packing to draw it out. If she is pain, we give her a shot of Banamine. Bute does not seem to help. She has her shoes off, I've been keeping her out of the muddy pasture, stall clean and dry, take her out and walk her on soft dirt when possible, if not, carefully in the barn walkway, so she at least gets to move around. With all of the rain, everything else is deep in mud.
Opinions? Help?
