She had her babies 8 days ago and she had them in the carry-all ontop of her habit-trail cage. So could I possibly detach it and move it to a larger cage so the babies dont fall down the tube and get hurt when they start wondering from the nest? Or will this upset her too much and she will eat them? Please only answer if you know alot about Hamsters thank you....

Your idea is the perfect solution! You are right in that the babies will start to fall down the tubes and in the next few days. If you can detach the accessory the nest is in and then place it into another cage, that's perfect! I would suggest placing it into another cage on it's side so the whole is no longer on the bottom but now becomes a side opening.

Just be sure not to touch the pups. The rule of thumb is that you can't hold the pups until their eyes open.

The female may be a bit upset by the new surroundings but shouldn't harm the pups since the nest itself is intact.

There is no sure thing when approaching the mother and her babies. Many people experience this and they have habitrails
as you do. I would get another larger cage, one story and move the babies to the new cage along with mother but please take along the same bedding that was in your habittrail cage and place in the new one story cage. The same scent is very important, this will make the transition hopefully easier.

I say bypass them. yet i ought to leave mom contained in the cage too so as that she knows whats occurring. I actually have had hamsters and mice and performance touched the toddlers and mom did not ideas in any respect see you later as she change into getting petted too. I had to regulate their cage because it ought to get messy and scent for the reason that I had more effective than one hamster interior an identical cage. So, i ought to take all and multiple out (toddlers protected) and adjusted the bedding and then positioned all and multiple decrease back in and that i ought to positioned the toddlers decrease back of their little living house. mom not in any respect ate them. She change into used to me dealing with her toddlers.

no, absolutely not!! she will eat them, do not touch the babies under any circumstances and leave her and them alone only get near the cage when a feeding is necessary, the mother WILL kill all of the babies if you leave your scent on them, its a very wierd situation, i know it sounds funny, but i owned a pet store and saw this happen time and time again, leave them alone and once they are big enough to eat remove them from their mother

Only if you absolutely have to as a last resort. Try clogging up the tube so they cant fall down it.

dont physically touch the babies, hamsters will eat them if they smell like humans, mama will take care of them so dont worry, be weary of the male tho, he might eat them, if u have tomove them then scoop them up with a paper and include their bedding in the mix so you dont touch them

you should leave them alone. mom knows best. believe me, she would not put them anywhere where they could get hurt.
