Should PETA lose its tax exempt status under the new Homeland Security guidelines ?

These new JAN 07 guidelines are designed to prevent charities from funneling money to terrorists.

PETA in the past has given money to ALF and ELF terrorists.

In 2001 it gave $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats.

During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing recommendation, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime.

PETA is our homeland terrorist. They should certainly lose their non-profit status.

so many celebrities sponsor PETA, as they assume it gives them a 'cool' image..All it tells me about them, is that they are clueless.

YES! After everything they have done to both our nation and to animals, they don't deserve to have that right anymore. I did a 11 pagfe research paper on PETA and other extreme animal rights groups, and no matter what research I did I always found out the same thing. 1) They are out country's worst terrorist group and 2) They actually kill more animals then they save. Which is sad since they are supposed to be the animal's protectors...

THEY want to take away my rabbits and dogs just because they are animals...I don't abuse them or do anything to them but they still want to take them away. That is wrong and PETA shouold never be allowed to do that!

I hope they get their tax exempt and more taken away (consitering the tax exempt adds millions to their totals) and I hope the organization is destroyed!

No. If anything they should be prosecuted for there activities.Remember if they had a choice between saving a human being and a cat. They would probably opt for the cat.They have no compassion for human life.Sooner or later a human will be killed in a firebombing and people will wake up and and see PETA for what it really is.

everyone has the right to an opinion on politics. The catholic church has continually advised their parishioners abortion and homosexuality is a sin. they typically do not come properly out and tell them who no longer to vote. even as any church preaches hate speech they ought to lose their tax exempt status, like even as they say hateful issues at our wounded hero's funerals or burn the holy books of yet another denomination, or in the experience that they tell them to kill the infidels.

Yes they need to lose their status. They want you to never own any kind of pet ever and i for one don't ever wish to give up my beloved animals. Peta must be stopped they are way out in left field and everyone else went home.

Quite possibly not... I know for all the "good" they do, (and they DO do good for many farm animals...and some others) they have done some terrible things to animals that cannot be overlooked.. I think they are an organisation that needs to become more balanced... they swing like a pendulum... they go to both extremes.
