I have been a Marlboro smoker for 17 years, but today I change brands. Why? My ignorance. American Spirit brand is the only major tobacco company that does not torture animals. I don't think it is a secret- smoking kills. We know this. I still choose to smoke, but why torture animals who have no choice? If you care about animals please change your brand today- show big tobacco that we do not approve of this completely unnecessary testing. Are you with me?

Sorry everyone, I'm new to this site and I failed to share some important info on my 1st question, so let me try this again! I live in the U.S. in Richmond, IN. I have two collies that I unfortunately cannot keep. I would like them to have a good home together if possible. One is male and the other female-they are both tri-color and beautiful. They are both house broke and have great personalities and temperments. They have had one litter together and neither are fixed. It really hurts to have to get rid of them, but I can't keep them for my own selfish reasons. They need and deserve an owner(s) who can spend quality time with them. If anyone is interested, e-mail me at ambmclar@indiana.edu or froggieprins_s25@yahoo.com and I can e-mail you some pics, i cant figure out how to get my picture on here, let alone theirs!

Does anyone know a good web site to find horse trainers in Ohio?
I need a trainer to work on my pony's attitude, it needs a serious adjustment!
He is a 15 year old shetland pony stud. I have had him since he was a baby. He has always been by himself and has always been a little hard to handle. I recently bought a quarter horse yearling filly and he has basically went off the deep end. Of course he goes nuts when I turn him out and just runs around the barn trying to get to her, so I don't leave him out long because I don't want him getting too worked up. I can't touch him because he bites, and when I say bite I mean bite. Once he gets ahold of you, he won't let go and he actually jerks his head back when he has ahold of you. He even rears up to get his head further out of the stall so he can reach you. He is just plain mean and dangerous now, but getting rid of him is not an option, because I know no one wants a pony with his issues and he would end up going to slaughter.

Where could I look to find bunny/guinea pig lovers who are looking for guinea pigs/bunnys to buy/have. I would give mine free to a good home but I would want to be sure that they will be looked after properly & get all the love & attention they need & deserve. I would prefereably like them to go to someone who has experience with bunnies & guinea pigs. They don't necessarily have to go to the same home, they can be separated. My main concern is that they go to a good caring home who will love them & look after them properly. Can anyone help me? Where can I find people like this? I live in the UK.

i have a one year old female hairless rat named dinosaur. she has a fairly large tumor on her leg/thigh area. my vet checked her out and says since she seems to be doing fine right now i have a while to decide whether or not to put her through surgery. my main concern is that her tumor now has a foul odor to it. do tumors usually have a smell or is this a new problem?

They are both about the same size and both have that crazy stumpy tail thing. Their feet are pretty similar too. Has anyone ever gelled up a guinea pig to make it look like a hedgehog? Or are there any people who can tell me if these animals are in some way related?

Thanks!

i moved to a new house in june. since then my 3 year old cat has had 4 epileptic type fits, a few weeks a part and then 2 weeks ago my 7 month old pup had 1 at night. he was fine afterwards but in the morning i woke up to find him concious but unable to move at all. the only response i got from him was a little wag of the tail and he moved his eyes in my direction. when i took him to the vet she said he looked like he had been fitting all nite and he was severely brain damaged. i was distraught as i had to have him put to sleep. i am trying to locate the problem as i have a 2 year old son and dont want the same to happen to him. does anyone have any suggestions as i am desperate to find the cause of this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have two pet rats, a week ago they were climbing the cage as usual, and Tess fell a short distance. However, she fell on the corner of a box in their cage. She got up, and scrabbled off, seemingly unaffected.

A bit later on, we opened the cage to play with them, and noticed a huge lump on her left hand side, just above her hind leg. We took her to the vet as soon as we could, who was baffled, she squeezed the lump, told us it was soft, the rat doesn't seem bothered by it, but prescribed us some antibiotics.

We've been giving the rat anitbiotics twice daily, and the lump hasn't changed. We have an appointment again soon, but I want to be prepared for the worse. If it is a hernia, can the rat go on to live a normal life? Will it have to be surgically corrected? Or will the rat have to be put down? :(

Thanks,

I hate animal cruelty-especially testing. Before someone writes 'Why don't we test on you' I'd like to place forward a thought for people...
If a person dies of a disease, it would be a natural death. That person would probably be in the comfort of a fancy hospital or his home, and he would probably have friends and relatives around him when he dies. He would die peacefully. But when an animal dies in a testing lab after it was blatantly used and stuck in a steel, cold cage all day after it had been used so that you could live a few years longer, ask yourself : Which is worse-the person or the animal?

I found out my guinea pig has diarrhea....it doesn't want to eat or drink ( even when I forced-fed it). It has watery eyes and sits in the corner. But when you let it out freely, like out of its hutch, it would walk around abit....

Does ANYone know what to do other than take it to the vet??
