Sorry everyone, I'm new to this site and I failed to share some important info on my 1st question, so let me try this again! I live in the U.S. in Richmond, IN. I have two collies that I unfortunately cannot keep. I would like them to have a good home together if possible. One is male and the other female-they are both tri-color and beautiful. They are both house broke and have great personalities and temperments. They have had one litter together and neither are fixed. It really hurts to have to get rid of them, but I can't keep them for my own selfish reasons. They need and deserve an owner(s) who can spend quality time with them. If anyone is interested, e-mail me at ambmclar@indiana.edu or froggieprins_s25@yahoo.com and I can e-mail you some pics, i cant figure out how to get my picture on here, let alone theirs!

I just want to thank everyone who left a nice helpful comment, and I just wanted to send a personal note to torbaynew, but since you are such a coward as to not receive e-mails, i will just post it for everyone to see. I just want to say that someone who has children and is a vet tech should have a little more tacked and not be such a nasty *** when answering peoples questions. Like the poor woman who asked about the preganant pug...you could share your knowledge in way tat is not offense and mean. I am an animal lover and want only the best for my animals, I would not just pass them off to anyone. I though through this site I might meet someone and build a rapor with and of course get to know them and their intentions with my collies. I'm insulted by your response and in the future you should not be so rude to people asking for help...its really hard to believe that someone who loves animals and is a vet tech can be such a nasty mean person!

I apologize to anyone who may have taken offense to this add,it was not my intention & i also never planned on selling my collies for profit, its more important that they have a good home. I never posted that they were not fixed as a plus, I was just trying to be purely informational because in my first post I had not done very well, it appears I still have done very well, so I give up. I will ask more of my freinds and family if they would love to add my collies to their families, if not I will call the collie rescue in my area for help. I just wanted a little advise,& all I have got is critizism. Believe me, I dont want to let go of my collies, but I no longer live where they live & I cannot have them where I have moved. They still live with my ex fiance at a house with 2 other dogs & he wants me to get rid of them. They get their necessities met, but I just feel that they need more attention & I cant give them that anymore since I dont live with them & I work 2 jobs & go to school

Yeah, you are a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You get 2 dogs, make some cash off them, and then try to ditch them over the internet to total strangers who could be puppy millers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good show!!!!!
Maybe get them FIXED first and then they will have a better chance at a GOOD home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And have you called Collie Rescue like the person said before???????????

Well, it is BECAUSE I am a vet tech at a shelter that I cannot stand posts like this. I see people DAILY that have profited off their pets and then when it becomes a problem, they dump the animals. NOT spayed or neutered....just "gotten rid of" (to use YOUR phrase). It is sad really. You even said you are getting "rid" of them for your own selfish reasons. Someone already told you to contact Collie rescue....have you done that????? So many people see pets "disposable". You bred them and made money. Could you at least put some money BACK into them and get them fixed????? Even the rescue should not have to foot that bill since you made the money!!!!!!!
By the way you say "and neither is fixed", you seem to be listing that as a "plus". So it seems that selling them as a "breeding pair" is within reason. That just makes it more sad!!!!!

And if you desire to e-mail me....go right ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just stick @yahoo.com on it and send away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have worked at a humane society and would highly recommend a breed rescue. They often "interview" prospective owners and can make sure your dogs go to the best home. They know that specific breed and prospective owners are looking for that specific breed. Also, contact your local humane society. They often have a "looking for pets" list of people looking for specific breeds, ages, etc. They might have an owner that is looking for dogs just like yours. Check with the shelter, they also often have application processes that prospective owners must pass.

I saw that a Collie Rescue in your state has posted an answer - talk to them! At the very least, they can give you some pointers.

Hi,
Please contact Collie Rescue of Indiana and only give the dogs to them or another reputable rescue group.

Collie Rescue matches dogs with the next family. Anyone who wants to adopt from them has to apply, be interviewed and meet certain requirements. They may be able to keep your dogs together.

Groups like Collie Rescue work hard to make sure the dogs are placed in permanent homes where they will be well taken care of for the rest of their lives.

If this group takes your dogs you can be assured that they will end up in a good home. I believe they also require adopters to return dogs to them in case of an unforeseen problem (like a death in the family) so the dog is never dropped at a pound.

Good luck!

Please get them fixed before finding a new home for them! That way whoever gets them doesn't just use them for backyard breeding. You sound like a caring owner, so please get them fixed! There are 27 million unwanted pets turned into shelters each year!
