The staple should be pellets and timothy hay. They need the hay for the roughage it provided. Timothy is better for them than just plain alfalfa. Feed raw veges in moderation, as this can give them diarrhea.Treats should also be fed in moderation. There are also hairball remedies for rabbits on the market. Hairballs are common for rabbits, especially long haired ones, as they always groom themselves, so you may want to have some of this on hand to use occasionally.

All rabbits need a low protein, high-fiber diet. Timothy hay food and a nutritionally balanced pellet from your pet store are the best foundations to start with. Small amounts of fresh foods are okay, but don't overdo it, or you could cause serious digestive problems for your pet.
