The trick to killing the flea is to remember that they have a 21 day life cycle. The eggs are the most resistant stage...there are very few products that can get them.
You'll need to flea bomb at three week intervals for at least 2 months, then apply frontline to your cats once a month for life. Also, if you have carpet you should steam clean it. This will suck out a lot of the unhatched eggs. Focus on the mop-board or carpet board. This is where most of them hide. If you fog and frontline every 21 days, you can reduce the population by about 50% in a months' time.
Frontline is VERY effective. It works on a neuroreceptor that only fleas have. Even so, you probably have so many fleas that the frontline is being used up. You can't see all the tiny corpses of the dead fleas the frontline is killing, so it may seem like a lost cause.
Stick with it. Getting rid of a flea infestation is going to take time but it can be done.

I work for an exterminator. Fleas live in cocoons in the carpet. The bomb kills the adults but NOT the babies in the carpet. If you vaccuum, the vibrations of the vaccuum will cause the babies to jump out of the cocoons and die. Vacuum EVERY day for 21 days, use over-the counter flea spray or call the exterm. If you call someone you still MUST vaccuum, even the tile!! Good luck!!

I would call the exterminator at this point. Also, if you can afford it have your vet "flea dip" your cats; I couldn't afford to have this done but the vet let me purchase the solution and I did this at home. Wash all bedding in hot water if possible. I really wouldn't bother spending any more money on flea bombs I haven't found them that helpful in the past.
Good luck :)

Steam cleaning the carpet will kill the eggs in there but you may have another problem. You live in an appartment and your nieghbor may have a pet and fleas to and they do move around. It is a good idea to spray aroud your base boards with Ortho Home defence. You can get it at any Home Depot, Lowes, Ace even Wal Mart.. If you sprey as directed this should stop them and anything esle as well.

Switch from frontline to advantage. I had to do this for my dogs because no matter what the company says, frontline doesn't work. I used it for 6 months and still had flea problems. I talked to my feed store owner and at least 60 others had gone to him with the same problem. Advantage works. It has for me for 5 months now with absolutely no fleas, and I live in Florida.

This is going to sound strange, but it works. I have ten ferrets, and my son brought home a stray cat that was infested with fleas. My uncle, who is a gardner/landscaper told me to go to a store that carries swimming pool supplies and get something called D.E. , it is the abbreviation of a mile long name that I am not even going to try to spell, but they will know what you are talking about. It is a powder, all natural , to clean swimming pool filters. It is sea shells, ground up , but feels and looks like baby powder. sprinkle that all over your carpet, and pets bedding area, and broom down in. Leave down for a week, and vacuum. People have used this for years in their gardens to keep bugs out. I fought with fleas for two years before doing this, and it really does work. And it is inexpensive. The D.E. only costs like $10 for a 10 lb. bucket.

bombing kills adult fleas. there are eggs in the carpet, furniture, etc.you have to retreat every few days to get them all & stop their life cycle. sprinkling borax on the carpet & furniture will help desicate the adults & eggs to help eradicate them

the bombs won't kill the eggs, so if you are vacuuming, you still need to pitch the bag or the eggs can still hatch inside the vacuum and here they come again
