I have been a Marlboro smoker for 17 years, but today I change brands. Why? My ignorance. American Spirit brand is the only major tobacco company that does not torture animals. I don't think it is a secret- smoking kills. We know this. I still choose to smoke, but why torture animals who have no choice? If you care about animals please change your brand today- show big tobacco that we do not approve of this completely unnecessary testing. Are you with me?

I don't work for American Spirit. I'm a waitress and a potter. I was online looking for pet food brands that don't do animal testing, and I stumbled upon this site. I would recommend that any doubters look into it themselves if they care to. I was just sharing what I saw.

Bflute- they already don't have to. I guess my question had too many long words for you to comprehend. I'll try to stick to 3 letter words next time.

Good for you!!I'm a smoker and if I knew that my brand tortured animals I would switch as well. For all who scoff at me for saying that...it's My choice to smoke, those poor animals don't have one. It's wrong to test on animals when we already know the outcome of smoking...it's needless torture.

This is so cruel... Not only do they kill and torture the poor things, but the also do it so that they can harm and deceive more humans. I believe no one should smoke. And changing brand is a good idea, but not good enough, because as long as smoking is an acceptable action (and you help making it acceptable and trendy by smoking), the other firms will also have clients.

I am not condeming you for smoking, but if you smoke in the house around your animal, you are doing serious damage to him or her yourself. Smoking is your choice of course, but everytime you light up in the house, your animal is smoking as well. If you were serious about animal torture and what tobacco does to animals, you would make sure you smoke outside. If you already do, then kudos to you on caring about your animals enough to not endanger their health just because you choose to endanger your own.

If you're really so concerned about animal testing, then maybe you should stop smoking. Then, scientists wouldn't have to test animals in order to find cures for completely preventable health problems.
