Anyone want some free fish? I live in NE Ohio, and I am moving long distance and need to give them away (I'd prefer not to give them to a pet store). I have Plecos, Bala Sharks, Parrot fish, Albino Channel Cat, Glass Catfish, Gourami, and a Convict Cichlid. Contact me or give me your e-mail if your interested.

I have a 10gal. fish tank, but they dying why does someone think that is? Now one has lice what is the best way to treat them and have them not come back? Hopefully it is something that is not gross I get really grossed out easily. How should I clean out their tank so they don't get to shocked when I put tham back? What is the best water temperature for goldfish and which are fish to keep in heated water?

I bought two betta a few days ago. One is perfectly healthy and constantly active. The other is less active, but still moves around, and seems to eat less. It looks perfectly healthy, but this morning I noticed that a red growth is growing between its two front fins. I took it out of the tank just in case it has a desease, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I researched Betta diseases and it doesn't match anything.

I have a Betta fish and I introduced two cory catfish to the tank. things seemed smooth the Betta checked them out but there was no aggression however yesturday morning I could not find one of the cory's. I searched all the hiding spots and he is gone I can't find him anywhere I am baffeled did the betta eat the whole fish? is this possible? the cory's really aren't that small compaired to the Betta. I am no expert with fish but have been doing research online and I have found nothing about Betta devoring fish whole.

I have bought a siamese fighting fish two days ago and he flares his gills at my dwarf gourmis. Is he only trying to establish himself and will eventually settle or is this worrying behaviour?

The bigger one is constantly chasing the smaller one and rubbing up alongside. Is this a sign that he is trying to mate? how do I tell?

I have a 30 gallon saltwater fishtank that has 5 fish, some snails, hermit crabs, and a large piece of live rock. This tank has been set up for over a year now, but I recently noticed a rather large (2"+, couldn't see the whole worm) bristle worm or 2 peeking out of my live rock. I have also noticed a few tiny bristleworms in my substrate. The fish store told me that me that my 6-line wrasse should keep the population under control, but I'm concerned now that they seem to be multiplying. What can I do?

Many of you are aware of the genetically altered Zebra Danio that has been injected with the color genes from corals that make them glow. There is word that they are sterile, but other articles say they are not. Has anyone personally been able to breed them?

I am pretty sure that they can see in color so I would think that they can - but I was just wondering if they can tell when their tank light is on or off and which they like better... just wondering. =)

I just gave my mom a pretty large tank, and my chocolate oranda. My little sister has the goldfish who usually cost about 35 cent at the store. My mom wanted to put them together. I personally don't think that my fish will fight with it... But you can never be too sure.

Should I tell her to keep them separate?... I mean, I actually feel sorry for the fish my sister has in that small bowl of hers being so confined. But I don't want them to fight each other either.

I have a 10 gallon terrarium (it holds water at least up to 1/2 the tank). I want more males, as they are very beautiful to view, but I don't want too many fry. Is it okay if I buy 2 male and 2 female, without the female or male's being stressed out? I would keep them in one tank and not separate them (cost less) and just provide lots of places to hide (grass, rocks, etc.) for the fry, that way I don't have too many and only the strong one's survive. I want fry but just not too many, so would it be okay just to keep them all in the same tank and let the females and males keep breeding and eating the fry? (i will keep grass, so the fry have a better chace) Im a first time fish owner, need all the help I can get.

Is it safe to buy Guppies from Petco or Petsmart? Which one or from a local fish store? What other items do I also need for them? Which is more suitable, a separate tank for fry? breeding net? or just putting a lot of places to hide in the same tank?
