Convert the dimensions into metric.
4ft = 1,220mm
15inch = 381mm
16inch = 407mm
Multiply the dimensions of the base to get the area, and multiply the area by the height to get the volume.
1,220 x 381 = 464,820
464,820 x 407 = 189,181,740
1litre is equivalent to 1,000,000 cubic millimetres, so the volume of your fishtank is:
189,181,740 / 1,000,000 = 189.18 litres
Keep in mind that you may not fill the tank up to the brim, so adjust the height for the volume calculations accordingly.

well it seems like everyones answers are different!, but here's mine anyway.
4 ft = 48 inchs
48 X 15 X 16 = 11520 inch3
1inch3 = 0.016386 litres
11520 inch3 = 188.768906 litres

Multiply length by width by height
So 48 in x 15in x 16 in = 121.92cm x 38.1cm x 40.64cm = 188,778.97 cc = 188.779 litres

1 Change all three dimensions to the same units (use feet).
2 Multiply the three dimensions together, yielding an answer in cubic feet.
3. Multiply cubic ft. x 7.48 = volume in gallons
4. Multiply gallons x 3.785 = volume in liters
Okay. The answer is 188.7 liters. If I got it right. Check me.

very approximately
2.54 cm / inch -> 122 x 38 x 40 = 185,440 cubic centimetres (cc)
1000cc = 1 litre -> 185 litres

first of all better convert to metric units.
length 4ft x 30.48 = 121.92 centimetres
width 15 inch x 2.54 = 38.10 centimetres
height16 inch x 2.54 = 40.64 centimetres
so 121.92 x 38.10 x 40.64 = 188778.97728 centimetres cube
1000 centimetre cube = 1 litre
so 188778.97728 / 1000 = 188.77897728
188.77 litres
