The vet cut off the top of his femur. One of his legs is longer than the other so he walks with a bit of a limp.
The dog is up for adoption.
Does anyone know whether he'll be okay or not?

My pomeranian was born on December 19th, 2006 and I got him when he was about 7 weeks old. I had him for about 4 months and then I took on a large project at work which required lots of travel. I loved this dog soooooo much I considered getting a new job so that I could have more time to dedicate to him. When I came home from work, I was all his and I took him everywhere w/ me (accept work of course).
The person who does my nails just got married and purchased a huge house with a large back yard and was looking for a puppy. I thought it would be a much better fit for him because she owned her own business and whould have more time to dedicate to him.
Anyway, long story short, I recently got a new job that requires absolutely no travel and out of no where my nail tech tells me she needs to get rid of the dog! I OF COURSE want him back! He's turning 1 years old on December 19 and Im so afraid that he might not remember me since he's no longer a baby and its been 8 mths. Any thoughts?

Plain and simple: Are you annoyed by the people who promote adoption over buying? What about them annoys you. Most detail will most likely get the best answer. Please elaborate as much as possible. I would love to hear everyones opinions.

How do vets determine illness/ disorder such as?
Like.. a disease if they're diabetic do they need to take blood samples? Because when my vet took my exam on my dog they just checked the body, eyes, ears, mouth, weight and structure.. I thought they take blood tests too this was $49.99 exam we're talking about. How do they determine illnesses (besides kennel cough I know how they do)

I have a 7lb chihuahua/ratterrior mix. At the end of November or beginning of December I applied Zodiac spot on flea treatment. (I know frontline or advantix is the best, but this is all I could afford at the time). I noticed he had a flea on him 2 days ago, and when I bathed him he had more like 4 fleas on him. Tonight I have already picked 4 fleas off of him and I know there is at least one more that I could not find again. Can I go ahead and reapply the next month's dosage, the box says every 30 days, and it has not been thirty days yet. I hate to bathe thim again because his skin is dry and irritated from scratching. What can I do for now?

I found some people who loves dogs don't like children, they call them germy, noisy.
Some like my grandma, hates dogs, she think they're the germy ones, that stinks. We can't even go near them, and had to wash our hands 10 time after we touch them, so what are you? a child person or animal person?

Our 9 month old lab has horrible gas! Every few seconds off and on she has to remind us of it and I NEED HELP!
She's on Wellness dog food (all natural ) and only give her 5-7 liver treats per day. All of her toys and treats are nylabones, ropes, and stuffed animals.
Is this normal?

For the past 20 years I have fed my dogs home cooked meat ( bought in minced form from a local butcher - mostly beef) Unfortunately the butcher has closed due to local council plans and I now have to buy the meat from another butcher, this is more pork and chicken. My friend's dogs made the transition easy - no problem but mine are being strange and will eat about every 2 days.I have tried veg and gravy but no success, any ideas what I can add to spark them ?
No stupid answers please and there is no way I will feed them tinned ( I know what goes in it)

seriously people think about it for a second show quality dogs and there litter mates cost way more than average. I want to show dogs( Neos) because I want to get into a breed which in my opinion has very few good quality specimens-
(I like the Italian lines), so I know I'm going to spend some money, like 2500 to 3000 a puppy, but I don't think the average person who wants a pet dog should have to pay 1000's for a dog, so whats wrong with someone breeding two healthy dogs that aren't show champs so that people can have well breed dogs for pet or maybe show?
Show breeders rarely charge less than 900 for a young pup as showing the dogs is costly and requires alot of money and time, if I wanted a pet dog I would only want to pay 300 to 700 dollars for a common breed dog, and many people don't have the desire to show-plus from what I have seen of GSD, I wouldn't even want a show breed shep.

Here is my first question.
Our puppy is now roaming free in the house. In the night he used to cry every few hours but since he hit his 15-16 week period he suddenly started sleeping through the night. We usually put him out to do his business at around 11 pm and then he sleeps by our bed until like 7-8 in the morning. Is this normal? I am just afraid that he might be releasing himself on the carpet somehwere while we are sleeping (although cant find any stains). During the day he always goes to the door when he needs to go potty.

My second question is that is it normal for him to sniff my bottoms? I feel a bit uncomfortable. As long as it is not something sexual I am ok with that. I am more like his mother figure and not his mate you know.

The park we use to go often has a pond in the middle, about 200-300 meters (yards) across and about 500 meters long.
Once walking near the water I noticed he was missing for awhile and then I saw him in the middle of the water chasing the ducks as usual. I start worrying since he was never that far away. I called him. He responded right away looking at me. But then instead of swimming toawrds me , he looked around and realized that the other bank of the pond is closer, swam in the opposite of me direction and ran around the pond as fast as possible. I did not interfere with his plan and did not hide my joy and pride of him when he arrived!

What are your favorite clicker training books on obedience and/or agility? I prefer books that actually teach you things, not explain theories about positive reinforcement and such (like Karen Pryor's "Don't Shoot the Dog") Thanks!

My lab gets so excited when I come home that he latches on with his teeth to my skin or clothes. I finally got him to stop jumping up...but I can't seem to curb this particular behavior.

He stays in a crate when I'm gone for more than an hour, and has free run when I'm out for a short amount of time (we just started this...he's doing well.) Both ways...he does the same thing. I've tried getting a toy into his mouth first, leaving him in his crate till he settles down, "No bite."

None of this has been working. Once he gets my sleeve or whatever in his mouth, he will not let go, although he knows the command "drop." I have to pry his mouth open to get me or my clothes out. It is like he is just too excited to know what to do with himself. He gets plenty of exercise daily, and I'm always very calm when I come inside.

I am seriously at a loss. Suggestions would be appreciated

she is 10 yrs and just a few weeks ago it started. She stiffens up and shakes like mad and froths at her mouth sounds like she choking. I just pet her and eventually she calms down, she seems delirious after, and she pants like shes trying to catch her breath. Is it an old age thing? or a pit bull thing? It scares me so much, I don't want to lose my baby.

I got her when I could afford to have her 10 yrs ago, life has changed and I love her to much to give her up. I only say this becuz of the heartless comments I may get from those who don't understand why I hava pet and no $ nearly homeless...

I have called every vet in Vegas and none do payments, does anyone have any info on what I can do?
