My dog, part Chiwawa part daschond, is very sick. Two days ago I put Frontline on him and four other bigger dogs. The others are all fine, but he is lethargic, vomiting foam, diarrhea and the shakes. I have given him Peptobismal and gatorade as well as yogurt. Any suggestions? Has this happened to you? Will he be OK?

Our dog insists on pushing his bowl around the floor with his foot for a minute or two before he eats. He also dips his head inside then outside several times, back and forth, rubbing his snout on the inside and outside in a ritual dipping dance before he begins to eat. He won't eat until I leave the room. Why?

I have a Dashund, I am very aware of the dog food products that we buy at stores. Some of these foods they do not like.I would like to know, what can't they eat. Besides seasoned foods.

My little dog looks like she has hives only on her back. She is pregnant and due in about 3 weeks, so I can't give her benadryl as I have read some people have done. She is a chi..... mix. I noticed this slightly about a week ago. She was even at the vet last week for a checkup, but it was so slight at that time, I forgot to ask and the vet didn't notice either. Today, it looks a little worse. I bathed her today with medicated shampoo and that did not help or make worse. She doesn't act sick in the slightest, but it looks kind of weird. She also is not scratching that I have noticed. Her hair just stands up in little spots all over her back from her neck to almost her tail and I can feel little raised bumps, but can't see any. She is a reddish/brown color. Does anyone know what else this could be and can it hurt her puppies?

I have recently gotten a new Beagle puppy 2 weeks ago. She is doing pretty well on her pottying but we can't seem to keep her in the yard all of a sudden. We have put her on a chain and she escapes, we have spanked her, etc. We reward her for good behavior but this is getting bad and we live on a somewhat busy street and do not want her to get into the road and get hit. Does anyone have any good advice from puppies they have or do own?

I have 3 kids and work part time for 6 hours at a time so the dog would have to be left at home sometimes. I want a friendly intelligent male but not something too big as i don't have tons of space. The kids are determined that it should be a puppy too. Any ideas welcome.

It seems to me that dogs are, but I don't know if that is because of their pack behavior and therefore wanting to please the pack by following orders. What do you think?

According to Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer, dogs don't have emotions. Do you agree or disagree with this? Why?

I have a dog. She's small mixed breed and.. well, kind of odd looking. I think somewhat mixture of poodle and something else, perhaps yorkie... who knows. I got her for my daughter 10 years ago from a local humane society. We just love her, she is the greatest. Some people call themselves dog lover but they get too technical about certain breeds and don't want to bother mixed breeds. It's almost discrimination in the dog world. Oh, well, I still love my dog, she's good. I guess they are missing out on good dogs.

I have been giving him a fish oil capsule daily from the vet for over a year for his coat. It looks shiny and nice. Can you help me?

We're getting another dog in a few months and I need your advice on what breed I should get! I'm 14 years old and live in a medium sized house with my mom, dad, 22 year old brother and german shepherd. We have a large yard with grass, trees, and plants and plenty of running room. My German Shepherd is EXTREMELY gentle and sweet and great with any dogs from chihuahuas to mastiffs. I am very dog-knowledgable and responsible and will do most of the caring for the new dog, with my parents supervising and always there to help. I would be with the dog for about an hour in the morning, go to school and get home at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Sometimes I would have drama club or dance classes but I'd always have at least a few hours with the dog after school. I would be able to walk it at least twice a day and spend quality time with it. I'm looking for a small to medium PUREBRED dog or maybe poodle mix. What breed do you suggest for my situation?
