So does anyone know if there is a law here in toronto? if so please let me know so i can put a stop to this as these people are only out for the money they are trying to say that the mom is not wanting to feed her babies but i think it's because they have allowed too many people to touch the pups.

EXPLAIN TO THIS WOMEN ,HOW WOULD SHE FEEL IF WE HAD SENT HER TO WORK AT 2 YEAR'S OLD.
THE PUP NEED'S HIS MOTHER FOR 8 TO 10 WEEK'S OLD,to be able to be clean to eat solid food's & to learn how to be TENDER, just like when she was young, maybe this is her problem, she has never lean't this lesson.

OMG NO! Pups should not leave home before they are at least 8 wks old. They should be eating solid foods only for at least a week or 2 before they leave and should have their 1st set of puppy shots. A 4 wk old puppy is just barely old enough to be weaned from it's mom. If you want a well adjusted pup, never buy from a breeder who lets their pups go that young. Pups learn a lot from their mothers and other siblings between the ages of 8 - 12 weeks, I personally think 10 wks is the perfect age to bring home a pup (definitely nothing younger than 8 wks at the earliest though).

Puppies are not ready to be weaned from their mothers until they are at least 8 weeks old, and in the case of toy breeds, sometimes up to 16 weeks. If someone is trying to sell puppies at this age, especially if the mother is still available to the puppies, I would be highly suspicious of their motives. If they are simply doing it for the money than they are unethical and you may end up with a poor quality dog. If they are doing it because they don't know any better, than it is possible that the ***** did not get proper prenatal care causing the pups to be sickly. In short anyone who would offer to sell puppies at 4 weeks has no business selling AT ALL!

NO! Absolutely not! Puppies should not be sold to a responsible new owner until 12 weeks old. Yes, 12 weeks! Definitely NOT 6 or 8 weeks! That is still too young.

If someone is trying to sell you a puppy at that age, they are definitely not concerned about the life of the puppy, and it follows that they are not concerned about dogs at all.

If you are trying to sell the puppies, please get information about how/when to wean the pups and don't sell them until they are 12 weeks.

NO< NO< NO!!!!! In a lot of states it is even illegal to sell them less that 8 weeks old. Pups at 4 weeks are barely able to eat. Be responsible for these pups and keep them until they are older, even if the mom is not feeding them. I would never buy a pup from you, because you have even thought about selling puppies so young.

The woman does not need to be breeding!!! Hopefully people will not buy the pups, but some people are ignorant about puppies and how old they should be before leaving the mother.

Absolutely not. I surely wouldn't want to purchase a puppy only 4 weeks old. In fact, it's recommended to have the puppies with their mothers for 8 to 10 weeks.

This is both for the socialization of the puppy in interacting with other dogs & for the weaning process.

That sounds a little weird. You're right, 4 weeks is a little young. Most can leave their mom at around 6 weeks at the earliest. I wouldn't buy a puppy from her. I mean it's just common sense to let them be with their mom longer than that. And if she can't even do that right, it makes you wonder what else she isn't doing right. The parents might have papers and might genetically be healthy, but that doesn't mean she necessarily knows what she is doing when it comes to raising puppies.

No...I would not sell pups at that age. Allot of mother dogs begin to wean their young around 4 weeks, but that certainly does not make them ready to leave their mother.
they need the social skills they learn from their litter mates...and they occasional corrections that the mother dog gives. And lets not forget that at 4 weeks old a puppies immune system is very week and susceptible.

I advise against selling and purchasing pups at this age.

Puppies should not be sold until they are at least six weeks old and weaned. Usually the breeder will keep the puppies until eight weeks when they can receive their first shots and are de-wormed. Anything before this time is irresponsible and inhumane.

Depending on the breed, most puppies have to be 6-8 weeks old to leave their home. 6 weeks at least. At this age, they have usually been weaned due to their teeth coming in, and they are ready to go. Anytime before that , NONONONONO!!!!
