When my dog was spayed, I took her home from the vet, and she wouldn't eat anything. So, I figured she should be eating something. So, I made her a ham&cheese hotpocket. She it down! So, I made her another one and she ate that one too. (She no longer liked her Eukanuba) Then I made her a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and she ate that too! Since then (5 years later), she'll eat her dog food, but will quickly push it away when she smells people food. She eats everything except cucumbers. Why does she like people food so much? I've heard that dogs shouldn't eat people food, but my dog is dog is just fine. She's been eating it (not exclusively) since she was a pup, and now she's fine. She doesn't have any health problems, except she's about 5 lbs overweight her vet says.

...i have 2 siberian husky pups who are sorta recovering from it now they spent near on a week hospitalised at the vets...but now there home i got this big hang up about bleaching evereything as the vet said that the only thing that will kill the virus if the bacteria is still present in my home....help....!!!!

My 2 year old Jack russell chased a young child this afternoon. The child's mother was so angry and the child was in tears. This is one of the problems, she chases and barks at anything that moves. I know for a fact that she would never attack or bite a person. The major problem is she CANNOT stop barking when she hears any strange noise. I have to lock her in a seperate room when anyone she doesn't recognise comes along. Please help

I want to get a puppy and the labrador is my favorite because they are so smart and lovable. I can give it an active lifestyle but live in an urban setting and travel alot. If I could just shrink one down to about the size of a springer spaniel. Can anyone suggest a similar breed to consider? Woof.

My dogs chest seems to be bruised, and she is is moving very slow and seems to be in a lot of pain when she moves. My other dog and her like to play and they ran into each other the other day at full speed, that seems to be what hurt her.

I just observed a scandalous scene inside a government public facility where a lady just stormed in & started yelling "who owns a Jack Russell terrier inside a car outside?!!!" it was 110 degrees that day but with windows rolled down & I later found out the dog has a bowl of water in it & the people who owns it were just doing a quick chore in that govt facility, b4 going to the beach. The lady added hysterically & shouted: "did u know that w/in (?) mins they can die? Dog killer! (or murderer!) I will take your dog if ur not going to leave now & take her home! I will call Humane Society!" She kept going on & on until 1 of the owner said: "Mind your own business or I will sue you for libel & slander. We just arrived and my wife will go back to the car after she helps me with (whatever they were doing there, i did not hear)". When I left the place, she was still going on & the man's # was called and he was just quiet while the wife went to the car/dog. What is ur opinion on this?

This was a genuine, needing help sort of question but while most answers were friendly and helpful, a few were downright nasty, evasive and rude. Why are some people like that??? If they can't say anything positive then maybe they should keep well out of it. Does anyone else agree with me??? I actually found it quite upsetting that some were being soooooo rude!!!!!!

I was wondering if there is any type of home remedies that I could put on her until I can take her to the Vet. I am not sure if Baby Lotion or an Oatmeal bath would be okay to use. I have shaved a patch of hair where she seems to itch the most beacuse this way I can at least comfort her with a cold rag from itching. Any idea's?

My 13 dogs love eachother, Dakota,Zander, Kameron, and Kambden have been around eachother all the time lately. It seems like they are bank robbers planning a plot! I do not know why those particular 4 are together lately. It has nothing to do with the different litter cuz Dakota and Zander are Huskys and Kameron and Kambden are german sheperds. All 4 are attatched and my 9 other doggies are left out! Wats goin on?????!!!

my pitbull dislocated his left hind leg on saturday night. i took him to the vet on sunday. they said they will place it back in his socket today because it was too swollen when seen sunday. would you know how much that procedure would cost plus anesthesia? also most importantly, will he be alright after? i know you cant see his condition, but the vet said if his nerves are not responding, they will amputate his leg.any information will be appreciated.thanks.

This only happens when we remove him from the furniture (rare) or instead of bearing his teeth, he will offer a belly grumbling type of growl. He has never bit but has offered a jerked head like he was going to nip. He is very independent, yet extremely affectionate and playful with toys and games. I am concerned that he will bite, and if he does, it will be bad because he has a real power bite.
