My 2 year old Jack russell chased a young child this afternoon. The child's mother was so angry and the child was in tears. This is one of the problems, she chases and barks at anything that moves. I know for a fact that she would never attack or bite a person. The major problem is she CANNOT stop barking when she hears any strange noise. I have to lock her in a seperate room when anyone she doesn't recognise comes along. Please help

Keep your dog on a leash, that way you have control. You need your dog to know that you are the Alpha. I would suggest dog obedience classes ASAP, you want to train good habits while the dog is still relatively young.

Well a family relitive of mine has a jack russell terrier who is super hyper, chases after people and barks at strange noises. Jack russell terriers are supposed to be hunting dogs so it is their nature to chase after things. My family relitive has taught the dog to sit and stay by hand moshions, at first he didn'tunder stand so she pushed down lightly on his lower back and repeated the word "sit". If he didn't listen she'd give him a light spank on his nose. Then she used hand moshions for stay and it worked also.

My family raises Jack Russell Puppies. I know they are very high strug little animals. Obedient school may help.

Have you tried those collars that shock them when they bark? It doesn't shock them very hard, just to let them know that they did something wrong?

my jack russell is the same. he hates anything on wheels (scooters, bikes, skateboards, etc.. EXCEPT cars). one time he chased a kid down the street and the kid got soo scared and kept going until he got tired (that dog is fast). i guess that's how they are. but that incident only happened when his leash accidentally slipped out of my hands. You should keep him on a leash.

Have her spade. She may have hormone problems. I waited a long time before having my dog done, mostly because I didn't feel right about it, until his gland problems got out of control and I hated to see him suffer from it, so it made sense, after words he was more melow.

You're FOOLING YOURSELF **&** headed for a BIG lawsuit!!!

That dog WILL BITE!!!

You MUST GET AFTER HER ***NOW***!!!

Set up a situation,w/dog on lead & chain/prong collar & the INSTANT she makes a twitch/sound...RIP HER A NEW ONE!!!

You think that sounds mean? Cruel? "Poor wittle doggie!"???
Just wait 'til they come & drag her away to KILL her for biting some child! See how mean *that* is.
GROW A SPINE & STOP HER!!! This behavior is YOUR FAULT & YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
