I have a dog door in the garage that was there when I moved in. My dog has been having problems with urination, and I think it's due to being too excited when outside and forgetting to do her thing, then having to go once inside. I want to try the dog door as a way for her to go outside in an emergency, but I'm not sure what the safest way to use it is. I have a fenced yard, but should there be a kennel instead? I do plan on keeping her crated when no one is home.

I got my dog Oreo when I lived in Alabama. Then I moved to Tennessee, and my grandmother came to live with us. My dog immediately bonded to my grandmother (and was beginning to like her more than she liked me), then my grandmother died of cancer last June. I don't know if my dog actually understood what was going on, but when the paramedics came in the house to get my grandmother, my dog was very protective, and I had to take her in my bedroom and close the door. Then my grandmother didn't come home (because she passed), but my dog would still go into her bedroom to look for her. One day, my brother said "Wanna go see grandma?" to my dog, and my dog got really excited and ran straight to my grandmother's room. I scolded him not to do that anymore. My dog was sad when my grandmother first passed, and would go my grandma's room and lay in her bed or by her rocking chair. Now, she doesn't do that, but I wonder if she still remembers her? What do you think?

He's 14 weeks old, and of course, very active. I have other dogs that he plays with in my home and yard. But sometimes, he digs at the fence line trying to get to my neighbor's dogs. (neighbor's dogs dig as well, there was a "tunnel" between the yards-thank goodness they play well together.) We have re-filled the holes, some with concrete, but they just move to a new location and dig away! I've read that boxers like sand boxes, would it really help, though?

Well, my dog doesn't really like other animals. She's stare at them for a long time, and then starts barking insanely. My neighbor has a cat that I play with whenever I see it. When Oreo (my dog) sees me playing with the cat, she'll go crazy with barking, and jumping on door trying to get out. Then when I come inside, she'll look at me for a few minutes and then go run and hide under the bed, and won't come out. After half an hour, she'll come and sit in my lap and wag her tail, and be her normal self again. I wish she weren't so jealous and mean to other animals, because I'd really like to add one or two more dogs to the family.

I don't really know what this breed needs. I just know that he needs a collar and a leash and food. What else? And do you have one that is already house trained? How do you house train them?

She is a 5 year old, black/white, Beagle/Terrier mix. She weighs roughly 30 to 35 pounds. She's a house dog, and only goes outside to defecate and urinate, and to go for a short walks --- she doesn't really like being outside much. Well, she has a serious flea problem. She's been biting herself (and is even bald in two spots), and sometimes she bleeds. I don't know what to do, because topical antibiotics might irritate her bald spots. I feel so bad because I never really noticed that it was problem until I woke up one night and heard a strange sound, and she was biting herself! I give her baths and the fleas come off, but then they're back again. I made her an appointment for the vet on Saturday, but are there any other alternatives because she doesn't like riding in cars or veterinarians. I know the fleas are driving my poor Oreo crazy, so if you guys have any suggestions let me know!
