I had a female cat once that was fascinated with watching the water swirl in the toilet bowl when it was flushed. One day she got up on the seat and hung her bottom over the edge and pee'd in the toilet. She only did it that once and never did it again.

I would like advice on what I can do to become a vet.
Right now I am a junior in high school. This is what I am doing so far. Do you think I am on track to becoming a vet, and what else can I do?

I am: - working hard to get good grades, especially in science
- Trying to arrange volunteering with a vet
- Getting a working student position at the barn where I ride
- Learning as much as I can about horses
- Joining 4H and my school's equestrian team

As shown here http://www.thebettabubble.com/pgs/fishroom.html . I was wondering how one might be able to set something like that up in their room. Of course not as many tanks but you get the idea. I a 14 year old betta breeder, I have a successful spawn of 5 weeks with some half inch fry that are doing well. I haven't had a single one dead in 2 weeks...well you get the idea. I was thinking betta barracks like those might be best to house my males and even some females that might be aggressive in. I just need to know how to set them up or something like that up. I do have other means of housing them but these seem like they would be better for the fish. I need to know how to get the water filtered from tank to tank so that the fish can get filtered water. Please help. Thanks/.

Topic: Rules in the House
What are some of the rules your dog has to obey in the house?
With the DDQ it was with Furniture rules so I thought what may be some just House rules. No taking food from the counter, eating after the master. Every household has different rules that go with the comfort of the family and daily routines and also the people.
We cannot call a rule a bad one if it doesn't involve harming it in anyway. Every rule is based on the household.
Care to share any rules you have? What are some rules we should consider putting?

I just adopted a cat who never meows. Instead she says things like "AAAO" in a very scary voice. Sometimes it just seems like she is speaking human language. Anyone knows what the problem might be?

How many dwarf platies; guppies; neon tetras; and corey cats can be in a 30 gallon tank. I have decided these are the types of fish I would like to have in my 30 gallon community tank and was wondering how many of each you recommend fully stocked. TY. (Also; I'm not worried about the breeding possibility; so please don't take that into consideration)

We got a puppy two weeks ago. She is 2 months old today and she is still not potty trained. We have tried everything and its still not working. She pottys when shes alone, she crys alot if we leave her for one second. When we walk she walks with us but grabs at our pants. She gets really agressive when we walk.
I just need help in two things:
1. How do I potty train her?
2. How do I get her to stop whining when shes alone?
3. What can I do to stop her from biting the bottom of our pants?

Shes a good puppy but she is REALLY attached.

PLEASE HELP!!!

My cat is currently on ''By Nature, Organics''. By all means, there's nothing wrong with it, but she just doesn't seem to have the shiny coat I'm used to cats having. Are gray tabbies just that way? Anyways, if you could give me your ideas of good quality food, that's easy to find (Petco/Petsmart, preferably, since they're EVERYWHERE), that'd be great.

So, what food brand(s) does your feline fancy, and that also has a nice effect on their skin/coat? Or even a nice type of treat that's known to help out?

P.S. Here's a couple pictures of my cat (Hurricane Katrina rescue):

Ok, I have been doing a LOT of research on dog breeds and what will be the best large dog breed for me and my young family. My wife has talked me into maybe getting a Newfi, and I have done as much research as you can on the breed browsing the internet. My questions to you all is, how good is this breed in general with Young children. I have a 6 month old, and I plan on getting a dog when he is about year to a year and a half. I understand the basics about the dog LOTS of hair, high chance of slobber, vet bills so on an so fourth. I read they are good with children but I want to know specifics. Please let me know! Thank you all so much.

I have two 2 1/2 year old domestic short haired cats at home. One of them had issues with peeing on our bed and we thought it was because she hadn't been spayed yet (we had waited longer then most because of $$$). About 3 weeks ago they were spayed and I was almost POSITIVE that's what the issue was!! Well, it obviously wasn't and she did it again this morning. There is nothing wrong with her which is leading me to believe this is strictly behavioral and I NEED to know how to discipline her. We have 2 litterboxes in our very small one-bedroom apartment and they're constantly cleaned. She's also never had issues using the litterboxes because I see her use them all the time. What my husband and I think led her to be bratty this morning, was the blanket she sleeps on at the foot of our bed fell off. A few nights ago, our other cat (her sister) let out a little meow and we fixed it and all was good. I am DESPERATE for answers here!! How do I discipline her so she understands?!

So I just got new furniture in my house. We decided that with the new couch we were going to have a new rule, NO DOGS ON THE NEW COUCH!

I'm not trying to be a mean mom. They have giant dog beds that I drag from room to room so they aren't on the floor. In our old house, they weren't all allowed on the couch all the time anyway, we only let them up when we watched tv and we invited them (1 or 2 at a time).

This got me to thinking. What's the furniture rule in your house? Is it a free for all? Are they allowed on the furniture? Are they banned from all furniture? At one point we had a Dog Love Seat (we got rid of it because it was was falling apart and smelled doggy). Where do your dogs sit? Do you drag your dog beds from room to room like me or am I a nut? Or do you have dog beds in every room?

Please share your furniture stories with the group. I'm sure I'm not the only one who had a dog love seat and is now saying no dogs on the new couch... =)

Hi. I'm a complete newbie here.

The tremors sarted and stopped yesterday, started and stopped again today. Also today one of her front legs seized up - not sure if it's related to the tremors or not. She seems OK in herself, eating, drinking, wagging her tail, but even more tired than usual, and sleeping in unusual places (probably because of her front leg.)

We are going to the vet, but any any interim advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I had 4 guppies for my daughter (all males) and of coarse they attacked each other until only one left. The pet store didn't tell me about this so now we are starting over. I like the gourami fish but don't want them to breed. Any suggestions on a good combination of fish?
