I want to get her haircut, but she has to have a rabies shot first...so can I get the rabies shot without getting the rest of her puppy shots first or do I have to do the series of shots first before the rabies shot?

Is a vet a Doctor? Do I refer to them as Doctor John Yahtzee? Or just Mr Yahtzee (my Vet's last name is not Yahtzee by the way, it just came into my head)

I want to send my Vet a thankyou card for the treatment of my cat, but am I over reacting by sending a card? Will they think I am slightly mental? Here is a link to another question that should explain everything: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnXLmAHtrGjR3Wop8XFWMVvty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071007045634AAhSqic

Do you think I should send a letter? I saw on their pin up board they had one or two but it seemed to be from far more serious and traumatic treatments (I can tell you though that this was still equally traumatic for me). Have I left it to long? He got his stitches out a week or two ago, but I would still like to do something.

we shaved him for the hot summer months. I went on the internet later on and realized that its recommended this isn't done for this breed. This is the first time we've done it to him, will their be any long term effects?

My brother has a 1-1/2 y/o Brittany Spaniel. Beautiful animal with no papers. My dear brother got into his mind he wants to breed his dog so he can have a from his beloved dog. I gave him all the arguments about dogs overpopulation etc. but of course these words are just from me his big sister so what I need is to back up my sayings by sending him websites discouraging backyard breeding.

Hope you guys can help me with that.

Many thanks!

I go in my closet and in one of my shoes were:
2 plastic jingly balls, one of his fuzzy mice, and one of those little white caps that go over the mounting hardware on the toilet.

Is my cat weird?

2007-10-31 03:52:40 · 21 answers · asked by Buckwheat 3 in Cats

my new indoor only cat starts to hiss and fight with my already existing two male cats.

bunny is 3 years old
snowy is 2 years old
orange is 9 months old

orange is behaving very gangster like right now. all this while i bet bunny is the boss. now, even he seems scared with orange. it happens only recently.

same goes with snowy. i notice snowy spend less time at home now. smetimes he is out for 4 days, then come back. at first i thought he was after some female cats until last 3 days.....

this is what happen....snowy came back to eat, and when he about to sleep, orange chase him out to the window(i left it open for snowy and bunny ; they are indoor/outdoor cats)

since that, snowy hasn't returned. i saw him at my neighbour's house, my neighbour told me snowy sometimes come and play at his yard.

is this why snowy spend less time at hom now? he's uncomfortable at my home anymore? is it possible for him to abandon my house? i read he will come back once he has calm down..

I have a 3/4 pom 1/4 maltese, looks like a full pom, looks nothing like a maltese. If I we're to let my pom mate with another purebred pom what will that produce? 0.5 / 4 ?

Is my pom worthless 3/4 1/4 maltese?

My female dog went through her first heat about 3 weeks ago. My male, neutered, dog was obviously very interested in her and mounted numerous times. My female now has swollen nipples but I'm not sure if this is just because she went through her first heat or if perhaps the male has a botched neuter job. YIKES! Any thoughts?

We just took in a stray adult male to be neutered because he started coming in the cat door when we are not home. He was a major sprayer and he has already done so several times since we brought him home last night. Any advice?

Many people have suggested that I use a prong collar in my training of Sydney (my Siberian Husky) with her dog-aggression.

I've been reading about them- proper fit, proper position, proper use. We just got one yesterday.

I have confidence in it, as she immediately started to walk less forcefully when we put it on her. I've heard of people having great success.

However....
She lunged a couple times yesterday at the park (once at a squirrel and once at another dog. When she lunged, she let out an audible yelp. To put it in perspective- she's a very "sensitive" girl- if you tap her with your foot, she'll freak out, thinking she was going to get hurt. She also "overreacts" about what she interprets to be a physical threat, when there really is none.

I tried the collar on myself and I didn't think it was pleasant- but I know dogs have a bit tougher skin, so I wasn't worried at first. Am I doing the right thing? I don't want to hurt her.

My cat has a habit, a few days after I change her litter and liner, of pooping on the bathroom floor, near her litter. She jumps in and out of her box, like she is confused about where she wants to go. I clean her box every day, but after she pees a few times, she doesn't like the smell it seems. Even though I use clumping litter and clean it regularly. I've even switched litters. Does anyone have any ideas of how to deter her from using the bathroom floor?

How many of you, have used plain Mineral Oil, to either clean out the ear canal in your dogs ears or to kill ear mites in your dogs ears, and would you recommend it to others? What were the results? Did it help relieve the discomfort?

I don't know what she is but, she looks like a white lab w/ Wiemaraner eyes and instincts of a pointer (beautiful!) She runs loose all around the (rural) area, almost gotten hit a couple times, eats garbage. I thought she was agressive at first because she'd charge, then run off a bit, turn & bark, but I've learned otherwise.

It's taken a week, but when I finally got her to approach, she cowers, dips her head, tucks her tail crawling & peeing, rolling to display her belly (covered in fleas & bites). After she realizes you won't hurt her, she is Insatiably playful and incredibly smart-- give her a ball & she won't stop bringing it back to you! She spends hours with us daily in the yard, and won't go home. We took her home & saw her lazy owners left piles of poop on the LR floor.

She just needs a good home, people to pay attention, care & play w/her! I can't keep her b/c they'd know, but something needs to happen or she'll end up shot, hit/injured or dead.

What would you do?

i have 4 little doggies and they all seem to be eating in the same manner. meaning they always leave half of their food.
they are all fussy eaters so i do worry about them not eating enough. i also feel very sad to waste the food if they don't eat it. so i do leave it during the day for them to pick at. i know i shouldn't but i am worried thye don't get enough to eat and then i don't like wasting food. can i keep the old food and mix it in with the fresh?
thanks.

When he is preparing to take a nap on me he moves his paws like he is giving me a massage, but he kinda scratches me in the process. I don't think it's on purpose though.
