there's been a wild raccoon coming to my yard for the last week. well, he's not really wild, in fact, he seems quite tame. he comes almost right up to me when i have food for him. i know they're usually pretty clean animals, but he seems to have lots of foamy stuff around his mouth and i was wondering how i could clean that up for him without stressing him out. do you think he'll let me hold him and wash him? he's actually on my porch again lol. i'm gonna try to catch him - brb

I had a fallout with my last Veterinarian. I've requested copies of all medical records for my Cats but she has refused. Am I not legally entitled to these documents? Do I have a legal recourse I can pursue? Can she just deny me these documents just because she hates me??? I don't owe them any money and something about what she's doing doesn't seem legal.

My kitty is a little over 1 year old, female, spayed. Everyday around 3am-7am she will paw at my bedroom door and meow for HOURS to see me. I know she just wants to see me because once I open the door out of frustration and walk out and it shuts up and follows me, not caring about going in my room.

If I leave my door open or let her in she will knock over EVERYTHING and get into things she's not suppose to. Example: She knocked over a 5 lb. candle right on top of my PS2. Example: She jumps on top of my tv and tries to jump into the window sill.

Another thing she does is she will run right up to you and bite you really hard and jump off faster than you can say "OWWW!" She usually nips my legs or my arms. She even bit my elbow once!

This behaviour is making me so depressed and frustrated. I can't sleep. I can't walk around without her biting me with her little fangs. It brings me to tears because I can't keep living like this but I love my kitty.

My yellow lab has a vaginal prolapse! Apparantly it is something that happens at the 1st heat where the vagina actually begins coming out of the vulva. The emergency vet said it may go back in on its own after the heat is over if I make sure to keep it moist! Anybody know of any cases that this has happened? I've only read that surgery will fix it!

My daughter left home for University and my (7yrs old) German Sheppard is kind of blue and not eating, I did the egg white secret that she used to do once in a while, and he eats most of his food now, I read somewhere is good for their hair, and somewhere that I shouldn't be doing this because...can't remember why.

Should I keep doing it , or not? He feeds once a day and I mix his dry (Purina) food with one egg white, but don't want him sick.
Please advice if you are a professional with animals and can explain why I should or shouldn't continue with this.
Thank you

Our 12 year old female Jack Russell cross has started howling like a banshee, for no appartant reason. She does this about 2 hours after her morning feed usually when she wakes up from a rest and is inconsolable for about 10 mins. She does not appear to be in pain but continues to make this earsplitting howling almost wolflike. She venetually settls down and then sleeps for a couple of hous. Any ideas anybody. It frightens the life out of me especially as I do not know why she does this.

Did your parents get *you* a dog?
Or did your *family* get a dog?
Or were you a no-dog household?

Our dogs were always family pets...we all went to the breeder's house to play with the puppies and choose the one that seemed right for our family.

Just curious how other people's families did it.

My cat has been throwing up water at about 6 am ever since the vet put him on a strict diet (only a couple of days ago) - two feedings, one in the morning, one in the early evening. Is it possible he overcompensating for his lack of food at night by drinking too much water? Should I change his feeding time?

My French Bulldog is now going on 3 years old. I wasn't aware earlier in her life before her 1st heat cycle that I should have gotten her fixed. Well I keep putting it off because it cost so much through my Vet. Everyone keeps telling me to go to SPCA or PETA but I am scared that they won't take as good of care as her Vet will. I need some advice on what to do, or success stories that would make me feel better!?

My three and a half year old chocolate labrador has always eaten EVERYTHING and never been fussy. But the one thing I can't get him to eat is the dog wormer, the one thing which will do him good. We have a pantomime everytime and I always have to feed him extra dog food and wrap up the wormer in toast so that he eventually eats it, but it always takes us a few days till he's finished it. anyway last time the vet mentioned a wormer that looked like chocolate and so we got that and he ate it easily! We thought we'd found the solution.......but now we have just got him this months wormer and he will not touch it. How can we get over this problem? Labs are renowned for eating everything, why does he turn his nose up at this one thing?

If you heard about Ellen's fight with a dog she adopted, What is your take on it. She adopted a small dog that didn't get along with her cat, & she gave it to her hairdresser. When the agency found out, they took the dog back. The family is devasted. They loved the dog. I didn't know this law existed. Now I'm torn. I know Ellen wouldn't give a dog to just anyone, she knew this family very well. So What would you do? Thanks for the input
