If your dog isn't huge, you could hold him while you stand on your home scale. Then, weigh just yourself, and subtract your weight from the combined weight.

But...if your dog is a big dog, you should probably consider just calling your vet to make sure they don't mind you stopping in to weigh him. :)

Stand on the scale and get your own weight. Then pick up your dog and subtract your weight from the weight of you holding your dog. This will give you your dog's weight. (assuming you can hold your dog).

(There are other ways to do this, like water displacement, but none that I can think of that wouldn't require a lot of effort.)

If your dog is massive then you may have to wait until the next vet appointment, as it would be hard to get a large dog on a small human scale.

Weigh yourself. Then hold the dog in your arms by scooping him/her up under each leg.

The amount more you weigh is the weight of your dog!

Weigh yourself holding the dog and then weigh yourself without the dog.

If yourdog is eating and is still losing weight it sounds like tape worm. If your dog is losing weight cause he is not eating it could be the food he doesn't like.

Lisa is right. My vet even has the large scale in the waiting room. So all you have to do is run in. You don't even have to call first.

Ya know my husband tried this trick with our rottweiler. It worked perfectly except he accidently poked the dog in the "brown eye!"

Thanks for the laugh this morning, I just remembered that and the look on his face, LMFAO.
