I want to keep a fish in my room, but I want something pretty unexpensive and easy to take care of. Cleaning the cage often would not be convenient for me.

I have a school of ten red-eyes and two plecos in a twenty gallon tank. I have an empty two gallon 'goldfish bowl' that I could use as a 'breeding tank' but I don't want to 'move the fish' (or even know which ones to 'move' and then put back after the eggs are laid) or whether they need an air hose and a filter or not. HELP ... my females look 'ready to burst' but they aren't 'scattering' their eggs, because they have 'fake plants' ... I have a good 'feathery' plant for them, but what else do I NEED?

We have taken in a stray cat who is not very old. We live near a college area and believe a student may have left her at the beginning of the summer. After months of debating we decided to take her in for good Monday night. I went to the vet (she is scheduled to go in Fri) to get the Frontline to de-flea her - it worked well. But, during the night she jumps up onto our bed and wants to play, lightly clawing to get our attention or burrowing under the sheets. What method of discipline should we use to keep her off of the bed? We wouldn't mind having her up there if she would just sleep... but since she doesn't we need some way of trying to solve this issue -we are in a lofted apt. for 6 more weeks and there is no bedroom door so we cannot just shut her out. We have been up all night the past couple of nights in a losing battle of putting her on the floor and at the end of the bed. This is our first cat so we are still reading and learning a lot. Any help would be wonderful!

Ok i know theres allot of breeds, like english mastiff, bullmastiff, dogo argentino, american bulldog and allot more that can kill a wolf, but now, which dog is taller. I think wolfs are no bigger then german shepherds, right? German shepherds stand 24 - 26 inches and weigt 75 - 140 pounds. But now i know for sure english mastiffs, irish wolfhounds, and great danes have to be taller, please let me know if im right. I know that the tallest is irish wolfhound then borzoi and another breed then great dane then english mastiffs, i also know that 60 % of english mastiffs get bigger then danes height whise, and ALWAYS weight whise, cuz there the heaviest dog breed, but thats besides the point. HOW TALL DOES A MATURE GREY WOLF GET?

My lab/rott/golden mix has hip dysplasia and I'm noticing that she has more and more pain everyday. She doesn't play anymore and lays around all the time. When she walks you can just see all the muscles tighten up in her thighs to support her weight. I feel so bad. I am a college student and our funds are really tight so I don't have the money to spend on meds that are very expensive each month. What would you guys do?? Is it to drastic to be thinking about putting her down before she is in so much pain that she can't move?? What should I do??

I am looking for ways that I can get rid of my pets' fleas and ticks. With the heavy rain that we have had in TX the fleas and ticks seem to be out if force. They have since infested my outside dog. He is perfectly happy staying outside so he refuses to come in. My daughter and I noticed the other day that ticks have attacked him. He's rather large and sometimes rowdy so he doesn't like to stay still long enough for me to take them off. Since I have to bath him outside I need something that I can put together from house hold ingredients and/or that won't make my dog or his area sick. I have the same problem, minus the ticks, with my indoor cats. Any help would be really appreciated.

My mom has to spend 2 months in a short term care facility for an infection. Her 2 dogs do not like mine, and I have 4 dogs anyway.

My uncle lives next door to my mom and walks them (well, he just let's them outside to run in the yard). I don't know if I like this idea since she'll be gone for 2 months. They won't have anyone to sleep or play with. Are there any other options?

I recent bought this 30 gallons used tank. The seller told me that this tank was up running until a month ago.

I got a tank, heater and filter only. I need to know if I should cycle this tank? The only media I still use from previous setting is just a form but I added the new carbon and ammonia remover thing.

Also I don't have the air pump and light yet. Will I need these things right away?

I thought tarantulas were most active during night hours, but it is only the afternoon and my tarantula, Rosie, is walking all around her cage, climbing the walls, and seems unable to stand still for more than a minute! She just ate, so I don't think she's hungry or looking for food.

My best friend has a giant Oscar. He loves bugs. She feeds him crickets all the time & he's been fine. But the other day she got the bright idea to feed him a moth. Ever since he's been lathargic at the bottom of the tank and barely eats. Aren't some moths poisonous? I thought I read that some where? If this particular moth was poisonous, is there anything she can do to save her fish?

I recently rescued a st bernard aged 2 from the local dog sanctuary. Ive had her for nearly 5weeks, she is a joy to be around but i took her for check up at the vets and he said that she is roughly 7wks pregnant. She obviously hasnt got pregnant while i have had her as i havent had her long enough so i contacted the dog rescue and they said oh she must have fallen pregnant by the OTHER st bernard she was staying with (they claim that they thought he had had the snip)!!! They said they will take her back but i lose all the money i paid for her but now we love her as our family pet. I'd like to know what should i do, what can i do, what do i do with puppies, do they need 24hour care etc so they dont get squashed or can she have they puppies and i seperate them and feed them please help, im a bit gutted by the whole situation, ps she will certainly be visiting the vets after the puppies to get neutured / spayed. thanks x

I am sick of buying feeders and having to quarantine them for a few weeks. I am going to set up a 20 gallon live bearer tank and breeder a livebearer or livebearers to feed to my oscar. I figure if I can sustain my oscar off of my livebearers I could save money in the long run, as well as eliminate the risk of disease in feeders.
