I breed guppies, and I want to get another fish in my 20 gallon tank to make it more lively. So should I get:

-2 mollies
-2 platies
-2 tetras

I know 2 tetras are not enough, but I don't want to take up too much room in my tank. I'm worried that the platies & mollies will either die from the guppy chasing, or have babies. What should I do? Any other fish suggestions that can go with guppies?

Please answer!

I'm not sure if I can cause i live in NYC and does every city have a rule or law for Pet Co. that we can bring and not bring dogs.

I've never tried bringing my dog cause i was afraid I might get rejected and be in the streets for no reason.

And also because i have a big dogs like Samoyed, Golden Retriever.

Can anyone tell me or show me proof that i can bring my dog to Pet Co., it wouldn't be right going in there without my dog if peopel knew what i meant.

i recently started a lake malawi tank and received several species from a friend that he bred himself. they are all still only maybe an inch long roughly. I have noticed the black band on the dorsal fin of my electric yellows have all become faded and paler. It may just be me but the bodies seem paler as well. the fish eat regularly and appear in good health so im wondering what may have caused this.

temp 78 F
general hardness 120
carbonate hardness 120
pH 6.5
Im not a beginer so obviously theres no ammonia or nitrite so dont ask me silly questions like do you feed them or change the water. the ph is low, i know, my friend says he never messes with ph and hes bred many cichlids so i didnt change it. if that could be what it is than could anyone also tell me if its ok to change ph drasticly from 6.5 to 8ish without stressing the fish.

any thoughts would be appreciated

Hello,

I just got a new puppy last weekend and she is from the humane society. She is a very sweet dog and is definitely not dominant. Yesterday, she broke out of her enclosed room (dont ask how) learned how to climb up stairs, jumped up on my bed and urinated on my pillow, and just the one I sleep on... Ive heard of submissive urination, but Im afraid this is not that. What are your thoughts? was this a freak accident, or her trying to tell me something? I had left her alone to go to work for a few hours btw. I figured it might be separation anxiety or something, but where is the logic in that?

I have no snails in my tropical aquarium only neon tetras and guppies. I keep seeing very small brown eggs floating on the water surface - are these eggs of the neons or some other parasite or insect?

How do you clean a breeders net wit fry in it? I have about 20 molly fry that are 1 week old in a breeders net, and I wanted to use my gravel vacuum to clean the bottom of the net but I am scared of sucking a baby up. Is their a safe way to do this?

Yesterday i was in the car with my partner and my sister, peak traffic hour, the main road was really busy with cars. And we see something lying in the road.... a small beautiful whippet. So as i though anybody would do, we slam on the hazard lights get out and see to this dog, who has been in a hit and run. She is scared witless and a bone is popping out of her leg. I sat there talking to her kindly and stroking her, my fiance took off his shirt to wrap her in.
Only 2 people stopped their cars!!!! us & another lady, everybody else kept going, nobody before us stopped, even though it it legal requirement by the law to inform the police if you have hit a dog. A dog is deemed part of a family. Nobody stopped, nobody cared. She died in my arms on that road. It was only when we got to the vets we realsied that her chest was damaged as well, it was probably kinder 4 her. Surely if you hit a dog you would stop and get a vet even if only to put her down. anybody else disgusted at that??!!!!!
