Bad news, they both died. It's my fault and I shouldn't have been careless and made the mistake, they were in a small tank until I bought them a big tank with filter etc so basically they were sitting temporary, the sun was shining through and heated the water. grr I feel so bad, it isnt the end of the world tho :(

Remove the heater from the tank if you have one attached and allow the tank to slowly cool. Changing the temperature quickly would almost certainly result in a quick death for the fish.
If you don't see signs of life after 15 minutes of watching them, I would assume the worst.

Heat did not kill your goldfish unless you got it up over 110. Something else did it. You need to find out the mistake you made so you can correct it so you'll be able to keep goldfish. BTW never lower the water temp by more than 2 to 4 degrees per day. Temperature changes hurt the fish more if its goes down. Not so much with making the tank warmer.
More likely the fish was suffering from either ammonia and or nitrite poisoning than the temp of the water. Poor water quality is the main reason fish die.
Never ever put fish directly into cold water!! That guy hasn't a clue! Goldfish are labled cold water fish because they can tolerate cold water. They actually like the temp like most tropicals in the mid to high 70's. Its a myth to keep them in chilly water. You will have nothing but problems if you do. I have kept goldfish for many many years and done tons of my own research. If someone says they used to have goldfish then they killed them too. Goldfish live a long time 10 to 20 years for fancy goldfish, single tailed goldfish have been known to live well into their 40's! Koi can live even longer than that. So if that dude knew how to keep them he'd still have them.

Putting them in cooler water would definately shock them. I have had goldfish lay on the bottom curled like a half-circle for as long as a week and just swim off, so follow the old rule.
Dead fish float.

Do you clean the aquarium out completely? If you do, that is one of the problems. LIke any enviroment, an aquarium is a living ecosystem, dependent on all organisms that inhabit it. Bacteria that grows in the rocks, substrate and plants are vital to a healthy enviroment. The fish need the bacteria to survive, and putting them into fresh water from a bottle will shock their system

I am sorry about this. Now you have the new tank you can start over. Putting them in cooler water too fast would have shocked them, the damage may already have been done.

taking them out of warm water and straight into colder water would be a big mistake. when this happens, you need to slowly lower the temp of the water. going straight form one extreme to the other causes more stress and could lead to death.
goldfish cant live in warm water because of the amount of oxygen in the water.
the best thing oyu could do is lower the temp one degree every hour and keep the surface as agitated as you can (this increase oxygen in the water), use extra filters and air stones.

OMG... you shouldn't put them in cooler water straight away after heat, that'll be even shocking for the fish!
if the water is hot, try getting the hot water out as much as possible while at the same time putting cooler water. they won't be shocked that way...
i dunno, they could be dead, but since these are quite hardy, i think they might be just shocked first, fish are stronger than we think....
well anyway, i hope your fish are still alive...

OMG!!!! Why did your water heat upp like that! Pour half the water in your tank out, and pour fresh, cold, conditioned water in. Even add conditioner to some water, and put the water in an icecube tray. Put the icecube tray in the freezer, and take the icecubes out once frozen. These will help cool your tank down. DON'T use a fan to cool it down! Thistrick never works, and it's not a good idea!
Hope this helps!
Good luck!
