I have two beautiful dogs, should I breed them? They are both pure breads, and registered through APRI. I mean, I can make tons of money off their puppies, right? My male and female need to experience parenthood, so I should deprive them, should I? I think that it would be a great learning experience for my 5 year old daughter. And it is so much fun raising little puppies. I know I can find them homes! We have a Flea Market right down the road where I can take them when they get to be about 5 weeks old! I mean I LOVE my dogs, so they should have puppies! They are healthy! I took them to the vet last year for their shots and they are just fine!

I decided that I wanted a little more flow in my tank, so I purchased two rio powerheads and a wavemaker. (Nothing too fancy, just switches between the two powerheads at a given time interval.)

Part of my reasoning for more flow is that I would like to stir up the detritus a little so my canister filter would do a better job of filtering the junk out.

Do you still place the powerheads near the top of the tank or deeper so it stirs up more? I assume you place them at opposite ends of the aquarium, but should these be facing towards the front of the tank, or towards each other?

My boyfriend and I just got a kitten who needed a home or was going to get sent to the pound. We already have a grown cat who is pretty spoiled and lazy as is and never been around other animals. We brought the new kitten home on Wednesday and my boyfriend and I are being very careful with the two and been keeping them seperated when we're not home. We have been testing them out and trying to get them closer together but our older cat hisses and is scared at the same time. We can tell our older cat wants to check him out but still is acting funny. and the little guy wants to play with him so bad. So what do we do? What is the best way for them to get along?

My kitty has had diarhea for the last 3 days. And he's fuzzy and gets if all over his butt. I came home today and there was poop everywhere around the litter box and huge piles of diarhea in the litter box. Please don't just tell me to call the vert because I'm a good kitty mom and already did and he's going tomorrow. In the mean time, any reccomendations? We've had this problem before, and changed the food, and then he got better. He's 11 months old and we just changed from the Purina One kitten food, to Purina indoor formula. Yesterday we changed back to the Purina one kitten because it did the trick before. However, I have heard that Purina is bad for your cats. He's acting fine, still hyper and playful, so we're thinking it's the food thats doing it to him.. If you've had this problem, what food have you gfiven your kitty? or just any reccomendations in general. Also, we have a guinea pig, and we think he might get a hold of his timothy hay, could this be a problem? HELP!

I try and take the best care of my fish possible. I have always belived in the "Every Fish Needs a Filter" rule because every fish needs clean water. So I'm setting up a Beta tank and I picked up a 3.5 gallon rectangular aquarium. When asking in my local fish store (Whose opinions I have always trusted and respected) about a suitable filter they said that I did'nt need one and that betas hated the water movement.
Is this true? I hope to maybe keep an African Dwarf Frog as well would they benifit from a filter as well?

i've heard that a vet puts a injection right through the Hamster's heart when euthanesia (sp.?) and it hurts them qite a lot. also it says most pets keep there eyes open. i wantmy hamster's eyes closed. if they aren't closed i wont be able to bury her because i'd have this weird instinct that she's still alive. would it be costly - don't mind paying, or do the vets do this anyway?

OK, so my brother got some guppies, like 3 months ago...and he is really irresponsible...he has never cleaned the tank (i cleaned it)...he never cleans the filter (me again)....I bug him about taking care of it correctly so much that it annoyed my parents so much, so im not allowed to say a word about the tank, or take care of it

Well, one of the 4 catfish that live with the guppies got a diesease and died... I told him to clean it, and i asked my parents if i could clean it...and they said no

There is now 2 catfish left, and 3 guppies (out of 10)

He hasn't taken the dead fish out because he thinks the catfish will eat them....but if the catfish eats them they will die also

So, i know that they will all die soon because they are all very sick. Well....my question is

The guppies had some babies, and I took the babies out and they are living in a 1 gallon bowl right now...Well (continued)

In 2002, the American Tempermet Testing Society statistics listed that American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Rottweilers were all in the 82 percentile, meaning over 80% of the dogs passed the temperment test. That is very high, especially when compared to breeds which are common family dogs, such as Golden Retrievers and Bichon Frise, which tested at 77%, Chihuahuas at 71%, and Lhasa Apsos at 71%

The test results can be viewed here in alphabetical order by breed. See how your breed fared.
